Dick's Announces How it Disposed of it's Bad Guns

Dicks was never a gun store! Yes, they had a small (by PA standards) of firearms, some ammo, a few gun related items, but nothing that could not be purchased elsewhere, at a better price. You want golf clubs? Go the Dicks, try any of the major brands, buy at a great price. Want a rifle, in an oddball caliber, say a Kimber or Sako, go to Grices and take it home with you. YA DON'T GO TO DICKS! Want a set of bocce balls, or the latest Nike sneaks? Go to Dicks!

This was a business decision, made at an opportune time, as was the sell of their Field and Stream stores.
 
Think about what a windfall that would be. They give money to the gun manufacturers, but then they destroy the products which means that overall supply is not increased. Win-win from the gun industry's standpoint.

Even better, the manufacturers have to make more ARs in place of those Dick's would have sold but destroyed. So, the manufacturers get paid again and the net number of guns on the street remains the same.
