DeLay indicted.

Isn't funny how things work now-a-days you don't really have to prove that he did any thing wrong.Just get a little pebble rolling,when the avalanche stops the truth won't matter any more.
 
I take back my previous post, I was looking at the :rolleyes: and got confused.

I noticed that he didn't list any of the things that the dems did and are getting away with. I also noticed that he didn't realize that this was the Legal and Political forum.

Strike out the orange part and I'd believe you to be an "independent." What does being rich have to do with giving a crap about this country? I thought people were innocent until proven guilty, not innocent until charged. Of course I realize that in D.C. and anywhere in the press all that matters is what someone is charged with, not whether or not they did it. I could walk to a news channel building tonight and allege (sp?) that Bill Frist came to my house and stole my TV, and afterwards set fire to my house to cover his tracks. And since I accuse him of this, he is therefore guilty in the media's eyes. Makes a lot of sense, huh?

Of course, if Delay is cleared of this and the case gets dropped immediately by the judge, what will you hear about him for the rest of his life? What will you remember? That he was charged with.....uh.....hmm...let me check that indictment again.....conspiracy. But I'm sure you'll also remember that he was found innocent or the case was thrown out, because any time the media mentions anything about this case, the'll be sure to also include that he was innocent.... :rolleyes:
 
If it isn't obvious these allegations are all about money. If you think illegally taking corporate money to finance your campaign is OK I guess there is no use even posting on this forum. I see nothing but worthless responses to my clarification. I see one analogy that is like oranges to apples. Is your best comeback argument the pathetic, "You did not mention the Dem's?" or "You are innocent until proven guilty?" Do any of you know how many times DeLay has been censured by HIS OWN PARTY? Just minor things like bribing other senators to vote his way. That was not 'just an allegation', he was GUILTY! that was only one of 6 to 9 times. Try some reaserch sometime instead of listening to sound bits.

Still only alleged. If it's proven, I say lock the bum up! But then I say that about any politician who breaks the law. Unfortunately that doesn't happen.

No clue. I'm entirely not informed on this, but I'll try and look it up. Just be sure you demand the same from every politician on the whole "bribing other senators" thing.

1) Allegations haven't been proven to have occurred at all.
2) Allegations haven't been proven to have occurred with DeLay's knowledge.
3) Allegations haven't even been proven to have been illegal.

If you think that destroying someone based on unproven allegations is OK... :rolleyes:

Not once, having a charge filed by a democrate to the ethics board and being censured are two seperate things.

We wont even mention the last little witch hunt the dems ran. Remember last year when they went after him for traveling illegally? How many dems was it that did the same thing? Oh yea for them it was just an oversight. For Delay its a "culture of corruption". Remember folks it's not the nature of the evidence, its the seriousness of the charge. Maverick your argument is a joke at best. And an insult to what you fought for at worst. This is the same crap as the Karl Rove game. What he didnt break a law? well hes an eeeevilll conservative so we'll go on and act like he did anyway. :rolleyes:
