Definition of Grouping?

There is a big difference in shooting in competition.. and checking the zero of your rifle. And since barrel heat affects accuracy..you fire three or four rounds and let it cool off.. then you fire a few more.

Now with handguns NOBODY does this.

I prefer to shoot my "accuracy groups" in 5 shot strings or 6 with a revolver. Note that this has NOTHING to do with shooting IDPA/IPSC/tatical Bob's crisis course etc etc etc.

The problem with all that math stuff is in the end some guy with a 2.5 inch group is telling you he's ACTUALLY shot a 1 inch group, on account of how its measured.. that's when you pull out a bright shiny quarter.. or nickel or dime.. and lay it OVER all 3 of your holes.. and tell the other guy "hey buddy. you need a roll of nickels to cover that spread?"

Matt:

Thanks for adding your comments. I just assumed everyone knew it was two strings. One string would require a reload and new shooters would be a little frustrated.

Joseph:

No matter what you decide to do, I think it helps to kind of "keep score" and set some goals. Good luck and good shooting.
