Dear TFL

Although I have been married for many years to a lovely woman, I am finding myself spending
more and more time with guns. Sometimes I just use them and forget them. Sometimes I strip
them completely and rub oil all over them. Many of them are younger than I am. It doesn’t
seem to matter. I even use the old ones. Sometimes, I use old ones WITH young ones. I can’t
tell you how many of them have been in my pants over just the past year. I even sleep in the
same room with one of them. I even take many of them with me on trips without my wife.
Lately, I have found myself looking at different ones on the internet. So far, I have been lucky
and have not had any accidents, but I notice quite a bit of discharge at times. What can I do?

Dear Lavan--

This problem is a chronic problem, and, I fear, malignant. There really is no hope. But with treatment, you can lead a relatively normal life. To best ascertain the degree of your affliction, send to me, care of TFL, the object of desire that most afflicts you. After testing it in my lab, I will render an opinion as to what you first must do, and how many others I will need to see before your treatment schedule is completed.

Remember to be safe. Wear protection. Follow the Four Rules (see above link: Firarms Safety, at top of the page.). Don't handle any other men's guns (without their permission!).

Best Wishes,

Lavan,

I think I understand where you're coming from. I've actually had one under my bed while my wife is sleeping *in* the bed. Sometimes I reach down at night just to touch it, you know, make sure it is still there and all right.

Just remember, when you get a new one you've never used before be sure it's properly lubricated. Clean it often during the first couple of hundred rounds. Once it's broken-in, it'll give you great satisfaction each and every time you put one in the bullseye.

Don't forget, use those cap things when you dry fire or you could end up with a broken firing pin. <ouch!>

I usually keep mine locked up, lest somebody try and steal them from me. I do have some of my favorites that I keep right next to the bed, in case I need them in the middle of the night.

The one I keep under the bed is extremely fiesty and quite loud. After 8 rounds of magnum loads, its time for a break. The one by the nightstand is an exotic from Germany. The German is petite, but can last over the government mandated 10 rounds. But then, I wouldn't want to do anything illegal, would I?

Geez, Did I just type that?? :o

Both me and my wife have them. :o And they have this thing for leather. :D Yehaw!

1) I've never had a gun tell me it doesn't love me anymore.
2) I've never had a gun get mad at me for forgetting it's birthday.
3) I've never had a gun complain that I'm not sensitive enough.
4) I've never had a gun get pregnant.

My wife came home unexpectedly for lunch one day, caught me with a bunch of'em spread out all over the bed, and lovingly caressing one of them. She knew that I had a few "in the closet", but had no idea how many. Thought I was a gonner for sure. Funny thing happened though, she actually showed interest in a few, and has become rather intimate with them. Wonder if there's grounds for "alienation of affection" here, or should I just be thankful for retaining the rest of the "brood"?

Lavan, my wife and I have shared one in the bedroom for years. It is with full knowledge and consent of both of us. I think this sort of trust makes our marriage stronger.

Some of you may know, I am new at this... but the other day I was flipping through the pages of "a magazine." I came across a picture that really caught my interest. The model in the photo was unbelievable! Lean, ruggedly handsome and exuding an air of power that I found exhilirating.I found myself daydreaming about how it would feel in my hands. Wondering if 8" really does make a difference... I didn't realize my husband was standing in the doorway watching me. He had such a hurt look on his face. I sensed that he might have felt "inadequate" in comparison to the object of my desire. Like I said, I'm new at this. I guess in the future, I better make sure the door is closed! :p

Never had that problem (yet).Thought you might get a kick out of this.-- Once upon a time I had all my stuff out for a general clean-up. Some 22's, 9mm auto, 45auto, single and pump shotguns 22 rifle and 7.65mm mauser. A salesman came to the door and promptly left.
