DANGEROUS Situation - Shop Vac in Reloading room

Her 110FP in 223 is a powder puff. But i can't shoot it as consistantly as her. Ditto her old Rossi R243.
Of my rifles, she likes shooting my custom Mauser in 284 Win, and my Savage 111 in 7mm Rem Mag best. More so the Rem Mag. All with full power house/hunting loads.

Personally i like shooting my Ruger 77 MKII in 257 Roberts most. But trying NOT to shoot out the barrel.

Speaking of wives, at a small party for our 50th anniversary, with close friends I gave a "speech" where I lauded my wife for consistently buying most of the 50 guns I have. She'd secretly check with a friend for advice, then for my birthday or Christmas I 'd have a new gun. She was at Cabela's one time telling the clerk her plans and a guy next to her asked her if she had a sister......anyway, I told crowd my response to her efforts was to allow her to by shoes any time I get a gun. I knew from the boxes in the closet we were pretty even. When we got home she told me I forgot to look under the bed for the other shoes......

My wife is not a shooter. I erased that possibility when we first met and I took her to a local dump at night to shoot rats with a shotgun. We approached the top of a hill and I told her when I turn on the light she'll hear cans rattling, so look for a rat and shoot the shotgun. She did and I looked her way and she was gone. Flat out knocked over on her butt. Missed the rat, vowed never to shoot a gun again but she ended up marrying me so the plan worked anyway.

If I had to sneak guns, reloading supplies, or anything else I bought past my wife to keep her from being angry, then to paraphrase an auto insurance commercial, you didn't pick the wrong policy, you picked the wrong wife!

This, of course, is the right and proper response---but where's the fun in that? So to the OP......any thoughts on using plastic spiders as a deterrent?

I actually read my post to my wife yesterday. Short pause, then she said "You do know I buy a lot of books from Amazon, right??"

I have a range buddy who has stated several times that for every new gun he gets, his wife gets the same amount of $$ to spend as she sees fit. Something about spending the kid's inheritance now rather than later. LOL.

Before my wife and I got married we talked about how we were going to take care of our finances. I said easy you have your account I’ll have mine and then we will have a joint account that we each put a set amount in every payday.

Well she didn’t like that one bit and insisted we have one joint account. I said “ok that would be fine but every time you want some new shoes, a new purse, now clothes, to get your nails done or your hair done you need to come and talk to me about it first because it’s not just your money it is ours, therefore we have equal say on how it is spent.”

There was a slight pause from her and then a response of “I like you your idea of the three accounts.”

I am free to purchase what I want, when I want with no worries of repercussions from the wife.

I am enough of a penny-pincher and analyst that when I actually purchase a gun or gun accouterments, she knows I thought it out, ran a spreadsheet, and got a reasonable deal.

Also, the most expensive guns we have ever bought have been those bought for her. She has tougher requirements to meet than I have and that costs money.

My Carol Ann appreciates the savings . . .

I hit the range a couple times a week. Couple years back the cost of ammo came up and I explained how much per round I saved by reloading my own. Especially the larger calibers where one might save fifty cents or more on one round. Since that time the issue has never come up again. All my reloading stuff is on open shelves in the reloading room. She even calls it the reloading room. Gotta love that woman.

Live is good.
