Dang I love lever guns

There I said it. Ain’t taken it back. I love all lever guns. If God hunts, he uses a lever gun. Now if only I could improve my aim:-) if I were a lever gun, I would marry a lever gun and have lever gun kids oh yes. My grandpa had a Winchester 38-40 early one with the Oxtagon barrel and brass receiver. Big heavy beast. I knocked off a lot of deer with it. Wish I had it.

Two favorite lever actions. First, is a 1947 vintage Win 94 in 32 Win SPL. This model is known as the "flat band":

Second, a 1966 vintage Marlin Golden Mountie in 22:

Fine shooters each one, and they simply don't make 'em like that anymore...

I've got 8 leverguns and love them all. My little Henry 22lr, my 2 Rossi 357mags; a 20" rd bbl carbine and a 24" oct bbl rifle, my 2 Uberti 45 Colts; a 19" 1866 Yellowboy carbine and a 24" 1873 Special Sporting rifle, my 30-30 Mossberg 464, my 1949 Savage 99, 300 Savage, and my beautiful 1959 Winchester 88, .308. At least one of them, and usually more, goes with me every time I go out to shoot.

Yep, I am a sucker for a good lever action rifle. This is my newest addition.

Something about them makes me feel good when I shoot them. Maybe it’s the history perhaps. Well my watch is a railroad watch made in 1910 and still keeps perfect time. I guess my old levers are the same way

Agreed. When I pick mine up they just feel natural, fit like a glove. Love shooting my Henry's, .357 and .41 mag. The .357 is an all day fun toy, and my .41 sends 210 gr XTP HP's down range at 1650 fps for some serious wallop.

My first buck was shot with a 1963 Model 94 30-30. I have no idea what happened to that rifle but I was recently able to replace it with a safe queen 1963 Model 94 30-30 that I found at a gun show estate sale. It's not the same one because it doesn't have the gouge in the butt from me sliding down the side of the mountain going after my buck. Still, every time I pick it up, all those memories come rushing back. When hunting locally, that rifle goes with me as my back up.

I'm married to AR's--but the lever gun mistresses are the ones that get me most excited. got em in 44 mag, 30 30, and 7-08. Always on the lookout for a new one.

I try to keep my eyes good enough to 100 using just irons--but the BLR is capable of reaching much further--so I put a scope on it.

I own levers in 22LR, 32,357 and 44 mag. Three 30-30s and a 35 Remington. So 8 lever guns and I will buy any I find a deal on.:D

I got my mrs on allowing me the 45-70 because of Alaska brown bears. Hmm maybe a killer raccoon will do it for the Henry 41 . Somehow I think I better come up with another excuse
