CZ Rami 2075

Don't have any xd's, but the Rami is pretty wide in both the grip and slide. From what I've seen, you could shoot the Rami all day long and not get fatigued, especially with the 14 round mag with the grip adapter. I weighed it today and with an empty 10 round mag, it weighed 25.75 oz.

Thanks for the reply, and congrats on your purchase. Told the wife about your "pre Billary panic buy gun" and she loved it!

I was able to hold the Rami a little bit today along with the XD mod 2. They were actually very similar in size, feel and weight, but the XD's flush magazine is 13 rounds instead of 10. The wife actually liked the XD a little better when she held it, and that was good enough for me at this point. I get a kick out of when she gets excited about a handgun.

Like I said, they felt very similar, and it might have been a great way to get into some CZ's, but for now I'll stick with the XD. Now I've got a possible reason to get something else before the election...maybe an HK or CZ. :D

I wouldn't wait too long. Seems as though Rami's usually get snatched up pretty quick, especially if the price is reasonable.

I've had approx 40 handguns and for me the Rami and PCR are tops, followed by the Mod 2 .45. IMO, NOTHING feels as good in the hand as the Rami with the 14 Rd mag. Is the Rami thin? Nope, but it's easily within .1-.2" of many other pistol widths. It's a joy to shoot, accurate, dependable and good looking. People regularly sing the praises of the 26, the 19 and 17. It's no wider than those.

The "trick" to manually de-cocking is to never get COMFORTABLE doing it. No need to be nervous about it but you never really want to get to the point where it's something you do on auto pilot. Don't do it without paying strict attention to what you're doing....ever.

Manually decocking should not be as scary as people make it out to be. As others have pointed out, put your thumb in front of the hammer and lower it slowly. I do this with my CZ85B all the time. also, if you release the trigger while doing it, it will rest to the half cock position.

DA/SA Fan said it best....never get COMFORTABLE manually decocking it, never be nonchalant about it. Pay attention every time and it's no big deal. Someone else asked about a comparison to the Mod 2 platform. Until recently, I had that in .45 and loved it. It got sold to fund a home project though. I shot it and the Rami and PCR equally very well. IMO, that's the best small .45 carry package out there. I may try a Mod 2 9mm in the near future.
