For those saying redundant or "me too", do you say that about all new polymer pistols? It is just a new offering and competition for the existing guns. CZ isn't new to polymer. They've made the P07 for how long now? They aren't even new to striker fired pistols. The CZ 100 and 100B was first made in 1995. It had a true DAO striker system, most people didn't like the trigger, and it was eventually discontinued, but this isn't their first foray into this category.
What is the market? Who is the target buyer? For a compact duty sized, striker fired, 12rnd (.40) or 15rnd (9mm) pistol? Along with the small single stack CCW pistols, it seems to be one of the highest demand categories for firearms. Nearly every major gun maker has a gun in that category, and it may be the most crowded segment of the gun market. CZ tried to compete in the category with hammer fired pistols, but with this, they have a more complete catalogue and will likely appeal to more buyers. In fact, when you add in their Dan Wesson 1911 and revolver offerings, they now may have one of the most complete catalogues of any gun company. In autos only, SIG may be the only one with more diverse offerings.
It sounds like it is a very nice gun. They did their homework and it may be one of the best of the bunch. Yes, I'm a CZ fan, but I have eclectic tastes and own polymer and striker fired pistols. This is definitely a gun I would consider if I was looking for another .40 or another compact 9mm.
