CZ P-10c: A Heads Up on Part Availability and My Stupidity

I feel you TR. I've done some MIGHTY dumb stuff with guns, much worse than what you did.

At least you never sprayed your Marlin 60 with brake cleaner... it turned the lower into a black puddle of goo!

I bet you don't feel so bad now, eh? :D
I nuked my original CZ plastic grips that way on my 85b.

It might be worth a call to Cajun Gun Works to see what they have planned to support custom P10C trigger work, a guy I met at an LGR I frequent showed me the “E” Conversion that CGW did on his 97B, where they machine the muzzle end of the slide to replace the screw in barrel bushing with a 1911-style bushing to perfect the accuracy, and they did a perfect 2-1/2 trigger pull & break on this gun, and all I can say is here is first hand proof that their work is nothing short of awesome!! So CGW could probably help you on your problem, if not right away then soon enough!

Guys I said it was my fault multiple times.

I think you are handling it quite well TR, and have taken responsibility. Maybe post on the original CZ forum with your plight. Someone may be able to work some magic.

Ha ha I am going to point and laugh at your stupidity. I mean who would possibly screw around with a part not knowing if they can get or already have a replacement...............:p;)

Not this guy......
No sireee .......
Not me because that would just be silly.....
I mean I certainly wouldn't do that......

OK SO MAYBE I MIGHT HAVE DONE THIS.........

TWICE. :o:(

I will be polishing the walls on my glass house if you need me.

Seriously though don't you hate it when stuff like this happens and you have that conversation with yourself. "You really screwed the pooch on that one cslinger". "Yes other cslinger I sure did".

I am sure CZ will get it worked out.

I went ahead and ordered the HBI trigger. I figured what the heck it's my cheapest "way out" currently, reviews seem positive, and the company has a nicely done install video. Weirdly enough a few people on the threads about the HBI trigger also mentioned the trigger safety rubbing the frame. One even suggested my idea . I think if I had another trigger I could likely do it better, but I've said that before too. I used to work with a guy that liked to say, "I cut it twice and it's still too short!"

Just a last update from CZ customer service on parts availability. Again I think the price they quoted is fair as it includes return shipping and I understand the liability requirements.

We do have very limited availability of parts here that are reserved for in house repairs only, we just do not have enough available to release them to the public. If we replace the piece you need we would end up replacing the entire trigger mechanism, trigger bar and all and because that has the sear surface attached to it even if we had enough available we cannot send you one for liability reasons. The trigger safety is not a part that was ever meant to come out to be replaced. Sorry I cannot help you more.

So that's what's causing the hitch...

I've modified my trigger pull to compensate for it. Will have to take a closer look at home. Much better than it used to be after ~1,000 rounds, but it still shows up every once in awhile.

Thanks for this.
