CZ P-07/09 compared to the CZ 75

Has anyone ran into any issues like this person after substantial use?

He mentioned the recoil spring assembly trying to unscrew on him. And also the trigger return spring breaking shortly after 1000rnds. Granted others have 2000-4000rds with no issues with the gun, i'm just curious if the issues are widespread. I realize there is no such thing as a perfect gun. My Glock has jammed. My M&P never had an issue. They all do, if your firearm has never failed your not shooting enough is how i think about it.

Still ordering both just curious.

I think his review came off as clearly from a Glock fan boy. I guess he didn't want to mention the fact the CZ is usually much cheaper than a G17. The CZ doesn't feel like you are holding a 2x4. And, the CZ doesn't come with crap plastic sights that immediately must be replaced. I am saying this as an owner of CZ's and Glock's. In fact there is a Glock 26 residing in a IWB holster as I type this.

The weak trigger return spring is a know problem on all CZ's. I always install a CGW reduced power trigger spring in a new to me CZ so I've never had a problem with them.

I would like to know what CGW parts he put in it if he is still getting a 9.75 # DA and SA 3.75#. I polished my stock P-09, reduced the tension on the trigger bar spring, and installed a CGW reduced power trigger return spring and got 9.2# DA and 3.6# before I ever shot it. After the CGW parts installs and about 400 rounds in the last two weeks the DA is 7 # and SA is 3#.

The recoil spring isn't an issue for me either. The stocker is pretty stout so I went with the CGW SS guide rod and 18# recoil spring.

I had not heard about weak trigger (return) springs, but did hear about some trigger springs that broke unexpectedly.

It was a known problem for a short period sometime around 2005+/-. It was not a recognized problem before that period, and CZ later identified a bad batch of springs. (I think it was mostly seen in some of the compact models; that was the case when I was still a moderator on the CZ Forum.) That said, I've not been following CZs closely in recent years, so there may be (or have been) a more-recent issue with weak trigger springs I haven't heard about.

But the video link takes you to an evaluation of the P-09, and I'm SURE that the trigger return spring of the P-09 is different than the springs used in the older CZ (with non-Omega components).

The shooter in the video praises Glocks, but seem to like the CZ a lot -- and speaks highly of the CZ's accuracy. He was concerned about the CZ trigger-return spring break. Stuff happens. The ONLY issue I've ever had with a Glock -- and I've had a number of them -- was trigger return spring break in a relatively new Glock 17. As I said, stuff happens.

Most of the video really focuses on the things that the shooter personally hasn't found a way to adjust to, yet -- but he seems quite willing to try, and seems quite confident that it's going to be an excellent competition guns with more trigger time.

Using CGW parts with little real improvement in performance just isn't a common result. It's also kind of hard to install some of those things wrong... The guy seems to know what he's doing.

It'll be interesting his his later reviews as he gets more familiar with the gun.

I've have had a bunch of CZs, "clones", and a couple of Sphinxes -- including a new SDP. The SDP is one of my favorites, along with a custom AT-84s, but I like the P-07 a lot -- and consider it a great value for the money!!

I've seen some accuracy reports for the p09/p07 that have been crazy. I think he definitely could get some better accuracy out of it.

By weak trigger return spring I meant prone to breaking. To me it along with other springs in a gun/magazine are wear items that get replace periodically depending on round count and usage (CCW, competition, range, etc).

Do a google search on Mike Pannone and his high round count P-07 and P-09.
