CZ fans, help me compare apples and oranges...

I have a 75B, a pre-B and an 85 Combat in the blue glossy finish.

Get a steel frame CZ and don't look back. Seriously. I also have a CZ 83 and some of their rifles. Great guns and you really couldn't go wrong with a poly framed gun, but I prefer their steel frame full size combat pistols.

I've had several pre-B CZ-75s, one early high-gloss blue CZ-85 Combat, three Compacts (steel -- two blued and one Satin Nickel), still have a Satin Nickel 85 Combat and a used CZ P-07 (which I really like!).

I've had them in 9mm and .40, and had a well-tuned/gunsmithed 75B SA in 9mm. I also have two CZ pattern guns (a Sphinx SDP and a custom AT 84s), and those two are among my favorites. I've owned other CZs and CZ-pattern guns. I like CZs and CZ-pattern guns.

I also like (maybe prefer) striker-fired guns, and have several of those.

I will get a CZ P-10C as soon as I figure out what I want to move out of the gun safe. (I'm not interested in keeping a gun that isn't used much, and I've 2-3 of those.) That may keep me from getting a P-09, which was on the the top of the "go get" list until I saw videos of the new P-10C.

Don't get the decocker model, 75bd. I had one and while it worked well, getting a crisp and short SA trigger is a lot more work than with a 75b.

I truly wish my P01 had a safety instead.
Having owned a safety and decocker 75B, both function equally well; the decocker is designed and ideal for carry.

I have both a CZ-75B with a safety and a PCR with the decocker. I actually prefer the decocker and wish both guns had it.

The PCR's DC puts the hammer on half cock so the first trigger pull is actually a lot lighter on the PCR than the 75B hammer fully down. Once in SA mode they are identical.

I also like that with the PCR I can flick the DC with my thumb at every shot and practice the longer pull at the range.

I would rank my own CZ 75B as one of the very best pistols I own regardless of how much I paid for it. I think these are definitely the best value in a full size service pistol intended for range use.

Most of my CZ-75's are the safety models, except for my PCR which has a decocker. I don't understand the need for a decocker though as your thumb works fine as a decocker, and I don't need the added complexity of the decocker mechanism. That being said, I really like my PCR overall.

Except for the relatively simple decocker mechanism (and a missing hammer hook on the decocker models. removed to make room for the decocker parts), the safety-equipped and decocker-equipped CZ-75B (metal framed) guns are internally identical.

The safety-equipped (metal-framed) CZs can be started from and carried safely from the half-cock notch, just like the decocker models. The triggers are exactly the same, when started from the same positions, i.e., fully hammer down, half-cock, or fully cocked.

I love my CZs. I also like the newer P-07 and P-09, and those two models give the user the option of easily switching from safety to decocker modes, with parts included with the gun. Internally they're different than the older CZs, but come with a slightly better trigger, out of the box. (Most CZ enthusiasts say the older-style trigger [non-Omega] can be more refined with work, but either style trigger can be improved with a little effort or after-market parts. Trigger reach can be shortened with after-market parts. The only disadvantage of the P-09 is that its a BIG GUN, not an issue if you don't plan to carry it concealed. (Ditto the CZ-97B.) I'd look at the P-07 for carry.

As I wrote earlier, I'm still waiting to get my hands on one of the new PC10Cs.

I have the CZ75 P-01 which has a decocker. By far, my favorite gun.
Have the CZ97B also but with a safety but wish it was a decocker.
