I think the Ruger is a good gun but too bulky and too many weard angles and switches. If you could put a winch on it you could use it for a fishing trawler or a minesweeper. they are not a trim sleek gun like the CZ. That slide is like 4 lanes wide, just hold a CZ in one hand and a Ruger in the other and which would you want to have sticking off your hip.

Ruger's sights seem sharp edged to me and the slide chunky. The more narrow muzzle of the CZ 75B holsters more easily for me than the blunt snout of the Ruger. The CZ-75B, too, has always had the better trigger in my experience.

While I've never heard a complaint about the newer Rugers' durability and reliability, I find the CZ product equal in these areas and superior in all others.

Denfoote,

You can get aftermarket grips from Hougue, CZ and some others that are VERY thin and make the CZ grip even nicer. I've ordered a pair of replacement Hogue Cocobolo wood panels for my CZ-75. Can't wait!

Pilot,

This was years ago. Gads, how long have I had that P95??? (thinks hard  ) I think I went through this in about 97, or 98. I have extra small hands, at least according to my glove size. I have discovered that aftermarket grips generally do not help. That is what happened with my P-89. I could not make it fit. I sold it.

I would get the CZ. I like my PCR model, but the best deal is probably the 75B. I'm sure the Rugers are also good guns, and I think the pros and cons have already been well covered, so I'll just second the opinion that the CZ is a $500-600 gun that you can get for $350. Full-capacity magazines are still available for a relatively reasonable price, which is another big plus to me. Good luck.

cz-75b

ruger is a good gun but will never be able to do what a cz can do. cz has made a reliable and very nearly match grade gun. Sold my ruger p-89 for a cz-75b and I get a chuckle from just thinking that anyone would even ask ruger vs cz.

ruger = chunky peanut butter and bacos on celery.
cz = creamy in Jeniffer Love Hewitt's cleavage.:D

guess it just depends on what sort of dinner you're after. -ddt
