CZ 75 9mm or 40S&W

If you can't get both, I say get the 9mm first. Ammo's cheaper so you can shoot more.

I say this owning two CZ-75Bs, one in 9mm and the other in .40S&W, plus a CZ-40B and a 9mm PCR.

One thing I noticed shooting similar guns in both calibers.

The .40 obviously has more recoil. I didn't like it because of how it recoiled, not how much. IMO 9mm recoil is like a pop, .40 is like an abrupt yank upwards.

Not CZ related, but I was just shooting both my SD40VE and my SD9VE yesterday. These are light guns CZ75B, but have a large comfortable grip and a full 4" barrel length.

I was going back and forth between the guns with preloaded mags so it was literally shoot one gun, put it down, pick up the other, rack the slide and shoot. (Shooting same brand in both guns, both PMC and Blazer ammo, 124gr for 9mm, 165gr for .40)

I found that going from the 9 to the 40 I barely noticed a difference. Going from the .40 to the 9mm, I did notice the 9mm's lighter recoil.

I really don't see much of a difference shooting these two rounds unless it's a small gun.

Update

Thank you all your input.
I ended up getting...... both.
Tried them both and liked them both.
The 40 had problem ejecting every 5 rounds, I replaced the ejector spring, seems to be ok now.
After bunch of shooting, I will probably keep the 9mm and try to trade the 40. maybe get me a Hi-Power that I lost and miss so much.
