I bet this guy owns one!

I would not waste money on such a thing. I do how ever have a DOC Badge, but I don't go around flashing it.

I've been tempted to buy one to use as a prop in my gun pictures. :D

But carry it around? Oh heck no. I got enough junk to carry around.

I'm kinda with Cajun, maybe get one to decorate the inside of a gun safe/cabinet... Really no use for them.

I do have one badge though, an old volunteer firefighters badge that belonged to my grandpa, and you can bet your ass that thing stays put up, even if I did play with it as a cop badge when I was a kid... Hey, it beat the hell outta the ones my friends had... Lol

I have never seen anyone require documentation of a CWL for the purchase of a badge.

I bet most LEOs have noticed that, too.

The badges are meaningless and can only cause problems.

Holy cow, that guy on the right looks like the Village People gone terribly wrong.

...which is pretty much what I think of when I see people wearing those badges. They never dress or act in a way that even remotely suggests they can hold gainful employment, much less a job in law enforcement.

cheaper than dirt sells a concealed weapons badge an permit holder, well the badge looks like a sheriff or police badge, the problem is folks get stopped for a traffic stop an they get out an they flash this badge to let the officer know they are carrying concealed, well they get arrested for posing as an officer, because that's what they do, get out a vechile an flash their badge, well from a distance it looks like theirs, alot of folks been getting into trouble over this,i don't own one an don't want one,you would think they would have better sense than to do this,i would wait till the officer was standing next to me an tell him I am carrying an I have a permit then I would slowly take it out to show him,i would be inclinded to agree with the sheriff's it would appear to look like another officer what do all of you think

Periods between sentences and paragraph line breaks is what I think.

While I don't deny that flashing a CCW 'badge' is a stupid idea, I think in general it will take a bit more than that for an impersonation charge.

However, if you want a way to identify yourself instantly to police (or anyone else, really) as a short-bus window licker, they're probably a great idea.

When I worked the door at a bar in my early 20s, we had a regular who would always flash a badge like he was someone important. One day I finally got a close look at the badge; it was just some generic PI badge you can buy easily online. The same things goes for these stupid CCW badges: They mean nothing and they only exist to help posers feel important.

Amen! He seems like a good guy, but I stopped trying to read anything he writes: It gives me a headache just trying to decipher his posts.

I don't carry my real state issued badge off duty. All I'm required to have is my ID and weapons card. :) With our state laws I can claim three different statutes as allowing me to carry concealed, and two of them are open to all non prohibited possessors in the United States who are in Arizona. I remember seeing one clown who was wearing some grubby attire, and what looked like a badge on his belt. I got close, and it was a CCW permit badge...might as well 1) carry openly, and 2) notify the world you are clueless.
Ya gotta love professional courtesy.
No, I don't! I despise it! I've seen sworn staff members get out of serious traffic tickets simply by being in uniform on the way home in a van pool, given that, "Hey, we're on the same team", type of attitude. That is flat out WRONG. People who enforce the law should be held to a HIGHER standard, not a lower one. I have had this talk in briefing more than once, and I know it falls on deaf ears, but I've seen the twisted destroyed vehicles these kids get pulled out of when they drive like maniacs - pulled one out myself.
So when I hear "professional courtesy", it's like a match to gasoline. I personally discovered an almost fool proof way to avoid moving violations - OBEY THE LAW!!! Only thing I've been pulled over for in the last several years was a headlight that went out on the way home. I won't say exactly how long I've gone without getting a traffic ticket, to try to avoid the jinx, but I will say this - there are people with CCW permits today were born AFTER I got my last speeding ticket.
I apologize for the off topic rant.:o

The stories are out there of people who have used a fake badge getting arrested for doing stupid things. It does not appear it is widespread, but people get arrested for it.

Paragraph 2 is pretty clear. Some places the badge will get you arrested.

A CCW badge.

Not a CCW badge, but still a fake.

Does not say what kind of badge he flashed.

Another idiot with a badge.

Amoredman, I agree with you 100%. Professional courtesy is not putting me in a position where I have to allow you to break the law. I was told I was one of the hardest supervisors, but also one of the fairest. I held my guys to a higher standard and some resented it, but most respected me for it. On or off-duty, they were representing the organization.

I have seen these. I think the local OC'ers maybe like them. I hate living in the area where that is going on. Why wear a meaningless badge that pretty much gives away the 'concealed' part of the permit?

Maybe it gives them a feeling of power that their gun wasn't enough to provide for them?

"I have a gun, and you don't". This is the very person I am going to watch, that's for sure.

The irony of wear a badge labeled "concealed carry" while open carrying is thick.
