Custom rifle pics??

Get R Done Guns

New member
Ok guys, let's see the rifles you have built or had built or just customized your stock rifle. Big, little, fancy, or plain Jane. If you have mods on them we'd like to see them. We only get to see the stock rifles usually and would like to see how YOU dress them up!

Thanks to all posters and we look forward to seeing them!

This rifle is a custom Lazzeroni 8.59 Titan.
Built off a remington 700 action.
This is a large .338 that fires 250 grain Scenars at 3250.

Stock is HS precision tactical with 30" fluted shilen barrel and a muzzle break obviously.

Damn....can't find the pic of the entire rifle??????? Will look for it.

Well I guess I'll be the first!

My builds is as follows:

Zastava action with set triggers standard bolt face, purchased from Wild Alaska.
Blue print and barrel install done by HTC rifles here in Colorado Springs.
26" Lilja #5 contour barrel chambered in .25-06 Rem.
KG Gunkote semi-gloss black finish of barreled action.
Original stock was a Richard's Microfit exhibition grade from the closeouts/seconds list. It broke in two through the recoil lug before I fired a shot.
Second stock is a take-off of a Whitworth Mauser that was given to me on another forum. I did the refinish work myself.
Recoil pad installed by Kevin Weaver of Weaver Rifles, Peyton Colorado.
Leupold standard base and low rings.
Bushnell Elite 4200 4-16X40 AO scope duplex reticle.

Just home from the gunsmith!

Restocked and ready for load development, Leupold VX-II 4-12X40AO fine duplex reticle.

Here is the rifle as she sits today. (some of the pics were taken before I installed the Leupold base and rings)

The only thing I'd do different is not to coat the extractor or bolt body. While Gunkote is tough it is rubbing off the extractor with the metal to metal contact. I should have had it jeweled instead. So far I've taken a pronghorn doe, coyote, and buck mule deer with this rifle.

Why 2 triggers?

The rear trigger sets the front trigger to a lighter pull weight. If I don't set the trigger I have a lot of creep to take up the first stage and about a 4 lb trigger pull. Once I set the rear trigger my front trigger has no creep and about a 4-6 oz trigger pull. It just allows me a few options while hunting that normal (non set) triggers don't. Plus that was the only action WA had when I purchased it off of the forums.

Got some more!

.35 Whelen custom I picked up off of Gunbroker. All I can tell you is that it is a 1903 action. It currently wears a 1.75-6 Leupold VX-III scope.

Found the semi inletted stock for this 1936 Winchester 52 Speedlock at a gun show for $50. Took nearly 20 years to collect all the vintage Al Freeland hardware and accessories. Scope is a Lyman Super Target Spot 20X. Emblem on grip cap is recessed and embedded in clear acrylic.

Built from scratch, stock started as a blank of Pakkawood....a high density laminate used in knife handles and cleaning rods. Finished in an automotive clear poly urethane, sanded and buffed to a mirror finish. First attempt at building a gun stock.

My 2 customs

Here's my Swede:
6_5x55_swede.jpg

Specs: 6.5x55mm Swede in a Fajen Black Walnut stock, Canjar set trigger, Leupold XV-II 3-9x.

Built on a Mauser 98:
280_Rem.jpg

Specs: .280Rem with heavy barrel in a Fajen Black Walnut stock, Canjar set trigger, 20x Lyman scope, Harris Bi-pod

Both rifles were built by local gunsmiths for my father so I don't know all the particulars like barrel manufacturers but both rifles shoot very well with the right loads.
