Current cost to reload

I have the TIME to shoot 400-800 per week.....and when I hit the Powerball, I'll have the money for targets and ammo for that rate also.

Typically I shoot 1-2 rounds of sporting and some FITASC or 5-stand.

(Zippy - the loads were just fine, in this case it was the Indian, not the arrow. Made up for it today at the FITASC - 68/75 with low gun and the same reloads)

That's kinda what I suspected, but I was giving you the benefit of the doubt. ;)
Careful with that low-gun stuff, Homeland Security might think you're a foreigner.

FITASC rules are what they are, and I seem to rise to the level of the folks I shoot with - in the case of today, an M class HOF member, a former skeet champion of PR, etc.............I think I focus more.

Thanks Hopper ...hope you stick around and participate as well ..

Time to pursue our hobbies ....is a luxury of having my family grown / bills paid / running my own business ( so I can afford to take a few days off every week ) ...and a very tolerant wife .... who allows me the time on weekends, etc to be able to practice and shoot tournaments on weekends.

It is kind of sad that shooting is becoming so expensive - its in danger of becoming an elitest pasttime .... and that's sad.... All I can say is support your local gun shops and your local ranges -- and I hope they stay around !

Very true! When I first got into comp Skeet, my mentor passed on some words of wisdom, "Always try to shoot with people who are better than you. You'll have better concentrate and learn a lot more."

It seems every club has a shooter who is a legend in his own mind, he doesn't compete very much 'cause he doesn't like loosing. However, he's quick to jump on a squad of newbies so he can show off, but his shooting has stagnated when he should be improving.

Here's a short bio,so when i occasionally answer it's coming from a older retread clays shooter:)I'm 53

growing up i shot doves and whitewings in south tx.after high school shot quite a bit of skeet, just for fun getting ready for dove season.got married and life came along. quite shooting and sold everything to support the family and don't regret it at all.

flash forward to early last year was able to get a Condor Comp, have always wanted Beretta. found a good deal on an older 686 Silver Essential the owner let me pay it out and got rid of the Stoeger.

i don't get a chance to shoot much or have much "play" money to get out much.(maint man at a church camp)have campers every weekend during the "off" season and all summer long.

I've always kept my interest in clay shooting and make the most of the times i can go shoot.

somehow i hooked up with a fellow SGW member who lives pretty close to me and he kept inviting me to go shoot with him at the local club www.rosecityflyingclays.com he's a M class sporting clays shooter. in Sept. of last year it worked out and i met him at a registered tourney and shot my first round of S/C's and my first ever registered targets. i was SOOO excited, like a kid at Christmas.and it's the same EVERY time a go to the range.

as i knew i would i was hooked. :D:D

anyway there it is:)and yes i do reload ;)

ok,so now i'll take questions from the floor;)
