When I walk the scope in I am highly accurate. But when I insert the breech fed
laser to confirm (before and after cleaning) it indicates 1.5 feet to the left (@100yrd). Given the laser casing is a high tolerance fit, does anyone have an idea why the laser is inaccurate?
Thanks

I have noticed that when bore sighting a rifle the POI at 25 yards is never where I expect it to be. Its usually an inch or two to the left or right no matter careful I am.

I can't speak with any certainty, but I've always assumed its a combination of bullet spin and barrel vibrations. I'm guessing barrels don't spit them out exactly in line with the bore of the barrel.

But I'm very interested in what others have to say. I'd like to hear from people who know.

It's not "inaccurate"
It's still close to POI, which is all it's supposed to be

The idea is not to sight in the rifle then use that to get the laser on, it is to use the laser to get the rifle close enough to sight in. You don't really care where the laser is when you know the rifle shoots to point-of-aim with the scope.
