Trade it within the forum members and get a better value
Needless to say, like nearly everybody else here, my recommendation is to keep the wheelgun you have, and save up for another one later. You won't regret keeping it, but the odds are high that you'll regret it much more if you were to trade it off.
If you absolutly must trade it, think of trying it this way....
Post the trade you're looking for in the classifieds here, you might find another member that has a gun you'll like, and they'll trade you directly. If they're in your home state all the better. If the trade is from out of state it requires shipping thru an FFL. If you find a trade deal work out the transfer details thru your FFL and his FFL. You'll be out a few bucks for the transfer, but it beats giving up 50-60% of the value to a gun shop or a pawn shop.
There are many members that would never consider trading for a gun sight unseen, but you can send pics thru e-mail or US post if your'e not in a hurry.
The classifieds here will give you an idea of what may be available to you in trade. I've made a few trade deals thru another forum but I've been satisfied both times. Just remember, Buyer beware. Ask lots of questions before you lock down the deal and get a feel for the other parties attitudes and responses.
Trading a gun is much like selling one, but with a little trust shared between members. Look up the member and some of their threads and posts, and see if he has a good rep or not.
