Cross "gender" guns

This is probably politically incorrect but I was wondering if any of the male members carry (or at least admit to carrying) S&W Ladysmiths or other gender oriented weapons (i.e Detonics Lady Escort, Kahr Lady K90? The reason it came to mind is that I can't track down a 3913 NL and the 3913 LS has all the features I like except for the nomenclature. Although secure in my manhood, I could really use group support.

Besides, it should be somewhat interesting.

I've thought about the same thing with the Ladysmith.
However, I would have to ship it out and get that logo removed. It should be possible since people remove the warning from the barrels on many revolovers.

The target isn't going to care what your weapon had engraved on it.
Good Luck with it.

Hey, get in touch with your feminine side,
carry a Ladysmith. (chuckle)

If that helps, I no longer own a 12ga autoloader (old Remington 11). Mine was old and limited to a Modified choke barrel and I wanted a pump anyway. Tried Mossberg 590 and it just was too much for me. Ended up with Winchester Defender 1300 20ga....drum roll....aka Lady Defender. I think that is cute.

In fact, I would absolutely love a Thompson "Big Girl's Best Friend (tm)" 1927A1 Tommygun. As long as it functions, the brand name will make me chuckle and help when teaching people at the range. So, yes -- I'd carry a sky blue Ladysmith with rainbow grip and engraved "you go girl!" if that was the gun I thought best for me and less decorated version did not exist.

Hey, I got in touch with my feminine side. The [CENSORED] slapped me!

Seriously, I'm not that worried about the logo. I just needed affirmation.

I can just see it now:
"Your honor, my client, while on his way to
sensitivity training, was acosted and drew
his Ladysmith Powderpuff special to defend
himself". (chuckle)

I personally wouldn't give it a second thought. I remember when Ruger started putting those stupid warnings on the barrel
of all places! If the piece fits your needs,
carry it!

Look at it this way. If I were to carry a LS, I could never be accused of being overaggressive or pulling my weapon without just cause. No one would ever believe I'd want to display it! Also, I might just make the target laugh his way to jail, wihtout a shot being fired.

This Smith is stainless right? Any good gun engraver could easily remove the Lady Smith logo. The newer Smith's are laser engraved and it's not all that deep. Too bad you didn't have the right name, you could have it changed to " MISTER SMITH" :D

You guys are cruel! So insensitive! I wonder if the impact of the bullet coming out of a LS is the same as a real mans gun? Hummm. :) Don't give it a second thought. I doubt the perp will notice the difference looking down the barrel. If you have small hands and it fits you better, carry it. Chi Chi used to play with ladies golf clubs before the advances in golf technology and he seemed to do ok.

This is easy - if the LadySmith fits, use it. But use it wisely - whenever anyone asks about it or just laughs at you, simply tell them, "My wife had to use my Desert Eagle .50 today for her IDPA session." I use a similar ploy when I drive our minivan, "My wife had to use the Hummer to take the Girl Scouts camping so I'm stuck with this." They've never questioned why the Girl Scouts go camping every week. :D

Heck, maybe the ladies will read the logo as your nickname. Could make for some close company. If you are married, your wife might get the idea as well, so live safely.

I've shot a Ladysmith when my wife and I were auditioning our first gun. Anyone who has a tendency to think it cute will have an abrupt change of mind after they hear it bark. If my wife had said she was most comfortable with it, it would have been one of our entry guns into the firearms sports.

Kinda like:
"My wife gets down on her knees and begs...
begs me to come out from under the bed and
take my beating like a man!".

I have a Lady Smith SW 317 because it comes with the full hammer spur rather than that
little nub on the regular 317.

The 3913LS is a neat gun. Being a psychologist, let me assure you that if someone gives you crap about gender roles, they are worrying more about their own than yours.

How about that!

I carried a 3913LS for several years. I liked the lines of it over the 3913. I really had to screw up my nerve to do it (the big kids might make fun of me), but, hey, it's called concealled carry because nobody is supposed to see the damn thing until it's needed. When the bad guy sees it, maybe his giggling will give me a fraction of a second more time to defend myself. But being shot at with ANY handgun can kill, be it labelled LadySmith or not.

I originally looked for the 3913NL, but no luck. I bought the 3913LS with the idea of having the "LabySmith" removed. I even called Smith & Wesson. They said they'd do it for $80.00. But I decided not to do it. Probably a good thing, too. My wife is now working with "our" LadySmith.

I wonder how many sales S&W has lost because women don't want to carry such a poofty logo either? Just a thought.

But hey, if it works, who cares? People are going to make fun of you for carrying a "girly 9mm" anyway. I don't even have my new 9mm in hand and I've already heard this from people. What do you care?

As long as the bullet doesn't "hit like a girl", it shouldn't make any difference. :)

BTW, it'll also give you a reason to "accessorize".

Disclaimer: I disclaim everything. In fact, I don't even exist. So there. NYAH!

Being a long-hair & 6'5" @ 180, a bit "willowy", I've oft to recocile w/my feminine side. ;)

Being secure in my masculinity, however, allows me to fondle whatever tool best suits the need.

I even have a (gasp) short-barreled .308

Whats the difference with the Ladysmith other than the logo ? Wood grips ? the model 60 LS with its smaller grips seems like it would be harder to control than the standard model.

I can't help but say I was passing the S&W section of the local shop when a cute little number caught my eye. It was a LadySmith autoloader. Nice looking gun.

MusclesMcGee,

I bet that cute little S&W autoloader that caught your eye was a 3913LS.
