I wouldnt put one on a center fire rifle but I have one on my .22 and .17 and they work great. But I wouldnt trust them on my big rifles

I had a Cheap NCStar on mine for 2 years. Out shot 9 out of 10 people on the range. Shot from 100 out to 600 yards back and forth, never had any problems. The fact of the matter is,,How clear does the object your shooting need to be?. Do you need to see detailed hair strands?.If it hold zero and works,go for it. A $3000.00 scope don't make you a better shooter, just more of a ---- for wasting that kind of money on one.

I'm rather suprised that an NRA RSO would be of that opinion. I'll remain of the opinion that you get what you pay for.

How many people do you see winning trophies shooting $50 scopes, or even $300? How many are using real quality scopes? I rest my case, and I wouldn't refer to those people as _____ for investing that kind of money in quality. Try putting those cheap scopes through the box test. I'd be suprised, but happy for ya'll, if they actually pass it.

that would look cool on my rifle

Bariska scopes will fill that role perfectly.........

I took the chance and bought one a few years ago I was very disapointed, it wouldn't hold zero on my .270 and when zoomed past 10x I might have well been looking threw a kaleidescope.....

I would decide what your maximum zoom range you want then try to find the equivalent in a Nikon or Bushnell Elite series scope.

I have a Redfield Revolution 2-7 X 33. It's made in America, has a lifetime warranty and I never have to send it farther than Washington state. Try that with your Russian made Barska or your Chinese made Sun Optics scopes. They may have offices in the U.S. and may be marketed through U.S. offices, but the money all goes overseas and where do you think that the repairwork is done? That is IF it is done. Sun DOES NOT have a lifetime warranty. They have "a LIMITED lifetime warranty. Barska?? forget it. Go to the online stores like Midway, Midsouth or Optics Planet and look up the user ratings on these products.

Birddog Im 50 yrs old, been down most roads already. Hung up the hype of spending as much on scope as gun long time ago.Basically back when i found it to be hype i guess. Keep in mind I only comp shoot. I hung up hunting a long time ago also.Would i recommend a cheap scope for hunting. If you only hunt in daylight hrs, yes.early morning no. Lets put it this way. I will put my cheap scope up against anything you have or want. Now also remember i don't care if i can see every hair,We just go for bullseye only.My scope is a 10-40 x 50. I can see a fly at 300 yards with it very easy.Is the fly blurry,,not at all. I have nothing against you buying a better scope. But if you think it makes you shoot better you are sadly mistaken my friend. If it boost your confidence that is another story

I would agree that it won't make a bad shooter a good shooter. But a quality scope gives a good shooter a better edge. If it works for you, great. But I stand by my statement that there isn't a record out there with a cheap scope on the winning rifle.

A rifle is only as good as it's sight system. A scope should be a lifetime investment. Why be cheap. I have rifles I would sell, but I can't think of one of my scopes that I would want to part with except the cheap piece of crap on my old .22 LR pump.

How about NO SCOPE AT ALL, I'll betcha there is a record out there where an iron sighted shooter DID WIN a major comp...against fancy scopes too! And done at Camp Perry.
