Cowboy 44 mag. Ruger or Uberti?

Have you seen websites such as Buffalo Bore where they sell "Ruger Only" loads? Yeah. Any more questions? (OK this mostly applies to .45 LC, but Ruger is known for making TANKS).

Yes, and it VERY IMPORTANT that you don't run the real hot 45 Colt loads in a "New Vaquero".

Buffalo Bore does mention this in there description, but just because it's a Ruger 45 Colt, doesn't mean it will digest the "Ruger Only" loads any more. That all changed when they introduced the Smaller mid frame 45 Colts like the "New Vaquero". This is NOT the same gun as the older Large Frame Pre-2005 Vaquero.

Gak - "The New Vaqueros - starting in 2005 or so - also had the treatment for the first few years of its run 'til rust and/or appearance complaints got to Ruger and they discontinued the look altogether. (2007/08-ish?)."

I didn't know that. Maybe it's because I didn't get into CAS until about 2005 and here in FL it seemed every dealer was selling stainless models. As best I remember, the regular Vaqueros were all gone. I bought a pair of stainless NVs without ever seeing blued ones, at least that I can recall. The guns were plenty reliable, but I never really warmed up to them -- ended up selling them and going to blued Ubertis and Piettas and a pair of stainless Evil Roys (nicely prepped) for rainy days. And not that I dislike Rugers beyond those NVs - one of my favorites is a 3-screw .45LC that I've had for 39-40 years.
