Couple new pics, another coming soon

Oleg,

Both get the message across very emphatically, but I am especially fond of 1and2. Very nice parallelism words/images and quietly complex.

Nice work!

The last batch was done digitally an can't be done big w/o a re-shoot. Some older posters are bigger but were not done even to the limit of my scanner's resolution. 8.5x11 is about tops for them. What I'd like to do is pick a couple I like best and re-do them in a way that would make 4-color posters possible.

this guy has some posters for sale on his site... http://www.standandfight.com/stand/poster/index.cfm
maybe we can get a TFL online graphics shop going...

i have a bunch of art that people have expressed interest in buying as posters or tshirts but don't have the bandwidth to devote to a side business

I wonder what someplace like a Kinko's or something could do with the digital images--could purchase the image from Oleg, have him email the original file (actually, could just copy it down from the site, but I wouldn't do that to Oleg) and have them enlarge it and print it? They could just print it on paper and I would back it with something. Hmmm.
I'm just thinking that in my anti-gun hole here, one of Oleg's posters would be a good replacement for my Marilyn Manson poster in my front window. Don't even like Manson much anymore. Maybe starting to see through his profound message.

At this time, the images on that site are free for the asking. Download them and take them to Kinkos. I will try to re-do my favorite posters at higher resolution eventually but for now must deal with what's on the site already.
I hope to see thse images everywhere, a bit like those high-contrast Che posters :)

On the just say no theme mentioned above:

Be able to do more than just say no...

Sometimes "no" is not enough...

RTKBA - when "no" is not enough...

well, you get the idea.

All of your posters are great!

Love the "'NO,' Emphasized"!

Great photography, Rat! I love the way you used depth of field to bring our attentions to the point.

C'mon, Oleg, I thought you were a pro. But I'd be willing to trade the offer to pay for range fees and dinner if you and Q are ever in Western Illinois. :)

I think a great one--but requiring research--would feature a firearm--maybe that sweet Colt 1911--contrasted with some of the crap often suggested as makeshift weapons for women--Like so:

Text over picture. Pic shows a whistle, set of keys, spray bottle labeled "lemon juice", heavy book, and several sharp pencils. Text reads "Some "experts" on rape suggest these weapons."
Other picture shows your female model holding the .45 with the camera as close to the muzzle as possible--"Others think this is more effective."
Across the bottom "Which one would YOU trust your life with?"

Or something similar. I am not le artiste . . .

Oleg -

Your "The original home security system" is the wallpaper on the system the USNavy has graciously put on my desk. Many favorable comments. May have to change it soon - I've had this up for about three weeks now and it's about time for a change. Just haven't seen one I like as much. This one replaced "Reason, compassion, etc."

Glad to hear it. I got some negative comments about it -- and at least two sites now mirror that image. Guess it takes all kinds...

I shot about 90 images last night and expect at least half-dozen new posters to be ready over the next week. Woohooo!

Thanks, Oleg, I saw those from the other thread about ten minutes after I posted that. Oops! Can't keep up with you.

Do you read all the records from your quiz? I sent a friend to take it. She says guns are not tools, and neither are fire extinguishers, because neither helps you build something. I'm wearing her down slowly.

Thanks Oleg.

I do not keep any results from surveys...merely make people think their responses will be counted so they stay honest with themselves. I ought to get the responses tabulated (maybe will use a survey-maker to keep tabs in the future). Tell you friend that guns can be viewed the same way safety goggles are for working with power tools.

tool: an instrument used or worked by hand; something used in perfoming an operation; a means to an end

...and there are several other definitions, but none of them specify building anything...

Oleg -

Help! I tried replacing "The original home security system" wallpaper without making sure I had it saved locally. Now I want it back and can't find it. Where'd it go?
