I didnt have a flamethrower handy so I sadly wasnt able to test the Vests effectiveness verses heat based attacks.

Heuco: after I rather easily put the knife through the vest I was able to slice it up with little difficulty, must be the weave that makes the diffrence.

Cutting or slashing will not easily penetrate a kevlar vest. Stabbing will penetrete a kevlar vest. An icepick or awl type device will readily penetrate a kevlar vest as it slips between the fibers, pushing them aside as it penetrates.
