cool movie guns

'Oldish' Arnie movie called "Cactus Jack"
also had Anne Margaret and Kirk Douglas in it.

Arnold carried a custom made 'seven-shot-six-shooter'

I don't remember exactly what it was called, but in "Jackal" the remote-controlled, .50cal suma-bitch that B. Willis was using... mmmmmm :)

As far as I recall, the gun in "The Jackal" was a Soviet-made NSV 12.7mm heavy machine gun, commonly used as the AA weapon behind the commander's cupola on T-72 series main battle tanks.

I watch way too many movies. Anybody else have SOs who get annoyed due to the fact that you point out weapon types, technical inconsistencies and wrong weapon handling while watching a movie? :)

lendringser, oh, yes. oh, indeedy, yes.

I have since learned to address such comments to myself, usually resulting in a sublingual murmur, which can be heard by aforementioned SO.

"What the hell are you muttering about? Don't tell me. Guns, again. Shut up, watch the movie, and cuddle with me. All this action....ooh. *shiver*"

Hey George.
A buddy of mine is big on it, and says there is a guy making a non-firing one from the real gun parts. Pretty expensive. He is limiting it to like 500 copies and I don't remember how much, but he was real proud of it. I want to say in the 4000 to 5000 range. But don't know for sure. If you are interested I will get the name and number.

George, when you make your pulse rife, you should just go all out, get your tax stamp, class 3's, and a really short barreled 870, and a full auto thompson! Then let me know and I will come help test it out. :D

Oops - ment to click reply with quote - my bad!

Does anybody know what the machine guns that Mouse pulled out of a trunk just before he dies in "The Matrix"? They have huge drum mags and look way cool! Just wondering if they are actual guns or just Hollywood creations.

Speaking of Aliens, anyone get a real good look at the spaceship the Marines arrive in?

If I'm not mistaken, it's a stripped-down M60 receiver, with some goodies glued to it.

How 'bout the rifle Tom Selleck's character, Matthew Quigley, used in Quigly Down Under? I have no idea what it was, but it was absolutely wonderful! There's just something about a big chunk of lead lumbering along a rainbow trajectory that really stirs my blood!

Gettysburg and Last of the Mohicans.

BTW, Quigley shoots a Shiloh Sharps rifle.

Well - good thing about the option of making one from scratch is Knights already makes a cut down under barrel unit that would fit this bill nicely.
However - Going All Out would be cost ineffective. See the DINO thread... If a Pulse Rifle works good on a hoard of xenomorphs - it would be good medicine for a pack of soft skinned Raptors! Those wussies... :D

Re The Jackal: thanks guys, i knew someone would know.

Re SO's getting annoyed by IDing guns: HAHAHAHAHAHa ha... does she ever... a budy and i usually do the, "uh, Sig P2340... no thats a P226" mantra under our breath, and Ms. USP just looks sideways enough at me to shut me up :)

Although, the other day, i was in another room and she was watching TV and said, "Hey, what kind of gun is that?" thinking she was just kidding me, i ignored her for a moment. Then she says, "The only time that i really need you to tell me what kind of gun this is, and you're no where to be found, humnph!"

I walked into the room, and noticed that the gun in question was that new-fangled .50BMG bolt-action rifle i had seen in a gun shop the day before. Kinda looks like a barrel and bolt-action stuck inside a 2" cast-iron pipe, with a scope stuck on top.

The MG in "The Jackal" was pretty wild. I always wondered too what country it was from. I thought it was Polish but I don't have any good info on modern heavy MG's in my library. The remote control tripod system was pretty intense. Unfortunately it would have been waaaaaaaaaaay too unsteady to hold a weapon like that. In my opinion at least. But it was cool just the same.

There is only one ultimate movie gun.

Seen the movie Phantasm? You know, the bizarre horror movie series with a young guy and a bald guy in a pony-tail following the evil "Tall Man" around in a Hemicuda.

Two double-barrel shotguns welded together side by side, with the barrels cut in a sort of inverted V shape:

kind of like below (only not as sharp): (ignore dots - they were needed to counter the formatting).

Those little horror midgets took some serious firepower; but reloading was a b**ch.
