concerned dad not a crack pot

Okay, someone has to have some sort of evidence that this person is a troll. Someone mentioned a link to DU, I would be interested if you could post a link to the link from here to there, then we could decide for ourselves.

You know, I don't spell right all the tim and my syntax just don't be the right way when I post, yet no body told me that i not talling turth.

*You may be right, but dang it, prove it before you start just throwing out slanderous statements.

It's not just the spelling. Someone claims to be the father of two daughters, ages 9 and 10 who are dressing in front of windows and who have no blinds (or towels?). Someone next door is videotaping them. He confronts the perpetrator, who is black (to aggravate any racial stereotypes present in the audience) and a lawyer (to aggravate those with anti-lawyer sentiments). This lawyer proceeds to emasculate the father by beating him with a rake. I haven't quite worked out the deeper meaning behind this event, but I'm sure there is one...

If this is all true, the two daughters are going to have much more serious problems than being videotaped. They have a father who won't stand up for them, who doesn't care enough about their privacy or isn't creative enough to block the view of a digital-age peeping tom (other than by -- and what a brilliant idea -- patrolling his property line with a shotgun, which won't do anything except provide the lawyer with photographic evidence that the father is anti-social), and who doesn't write well enough to give them an education if they don't get one in school.

Granted there's no such thing as a perfect father, but come on...

I have to admit, the thing about him video-taping them while they're changing just boggles my mind. HOW thick does one have to be not to see the solution to that?

Aluminum Foil is good! I wear mine all the time.

ATW, I do not believe this guy is authentic. It's not just the spelling vs syntax - I said that was "a" clue. It was one of the first things that caught my eye. His spelling was so bad that it had to be worked at, literally about 90% of the words were misspelled. Yet, if you ignored the misspellings the overall phrasing and syntax were from an educated person, with some exceptions that sounded contrived. It was as though he (or she) was trying to "talk down" and over-reached.

There are a lot of other clues far less subtle. To me the whole thing smells wrong. But you know, I could be wrong - so I wrote a response directly back to him challenging him on some points, to which he did not respond.

There are people out there that are attracted to the anonmymity of forums to create little false scenarios to see how people respond. I don't think it is particulary dangerous (actually I don't wear tin foil most of the time :)) but it is a game they play, and the difficult part is to see through their posts. Had Dad been a bit more subtle he would have been a lot better at it, he did have a fairly decent scenario that he designed to raise peoples hackles....

This is merely my opinion of course, which counts for just about not much. I too misspell quite a bit, and typically have to edit and re-edit to catch most of them - but they don't approach the amount in his original posting.

Just to be absolutely fair about this:
To Dad: If I have wrongfully characterized your posts I apologize. If you are authentic and you are having the problems you say, then there are several good responses on these posts that you can safely use. If I have wronged you, I would truly like to hear your response to my questions, it would be interesting to see how I reached the wrong conclusions.

Now I have to take my foil cap off cause it's shower time ;)
