concealed carry pistol

Please go check out all of the models your LGS has in stock. If you can rent and shoot the same models it is a great idea to do so. I personally cannot get used to the grip angle and feel of a Glock. They are great pistols though. I have heard mixed about the .40 Glocks though. Be sure to check all your options, and find the one that suits you the best.

Gun advise

Giving advice about a gun is like would be like giving advise about women. Research, research, handle many guns, shot many different gun. get one that fits your needs and hand one you will shot and carry.

Most people I have met tell me they have started out carrying the largest highest capacity pistol .. Then they end up after a period of time carrying a J frame and a speed strip.

So how much shooting experience do you have?

A rifle shooter can pick up using a handgun more easily because they are already familiar with safety and the basic principles. I don't recommend SA only handguns like the 1911 for a person who is completely new to firearms. Unless they have someone with a lot of experience available that can help them learn.
