Conceal Carry - IWB Holsters

OP, if the problem is the coarse grip on the G19, perhaps a cheaper solution would be to fit something over the grip. I've never done this, but I've heard of folks cutting a piece of inner tube (bicycle inner tube?) and fitting that over the grip. I'll bet a local bike shop may have an inner tube that's shot that you could get for free. Free is always good. :D

I have wore an under shirt all my life, it gets marked up over time with the grips on my Glock 19.

But I have a drawer full.

Sorry all, 4 or 5 days... Back to outside the belt! To much of me inside the belt! Small Kydex holster, conceals well enough.

IWB holsters

I have a bunch of IWB holsters but my Ted Blocker DA3 is the cream of the crop. I can put it on with a full size Glock 17 or 22 and go for a 30 mile bicycle ride without experiencing any discomfort. It stays where you put it too. I think I could do cartwheels with this holster on and it wouldn't move nor would the gun fall out.

I keep trying IWB but don't find them comfortable with any of the guns I have tried. I have pretty much given up but I have always dressed for carrying a gun (tailored coats, shirts with long tails, etc. And just find it much easier to OWB, especially if carry magazines (which I always do). I don't worry much about printing or accidental flashing. This is a little of topic, but your attitude when carrying (being completely with carrying) will give most people the impression you are a cop or some other LE type and most won't say a word. Being g uncomfortable with either and inside or outside WB will more likely cause problems. People pick up on it and it makes them wonder about you.

Crossbreed will cut the leather custom for you so you have more coverage the entire width of the grip, at least they did it for me...

I have tried most all of them. I just don't like IWB. The issue for me is after a few hours my hip starts to hurt. Other than that I like the way it hides the gun. I carry the same concealed as my duty weapon.

IWB comfort has a lot to do with both the gun/holster design, your body shape, fit of the clothes, AND the exact position you use. First time I tried to carry my little Taurus 740 Slim in a SoftTuck IWB, I put it a bit too far forward on my hip while wearing some shorts that were a size too small - despite the very thin shape of the gun, it was NOT comfortable. I slid it back around below my kidney and it just totally disappeared - even sitting in the car I could not feel it. And that was still with the too-tight pants.

I have used crossbreed holsters and they really are great holsters, except for that they use way too much leather for smaller guns for my liking. I usually end up trimming a good portion off the wings, I guess you would call them, and relocating the clips.

IWB holsters

I just received my G Code INCOG Eclipse holster the other day. I must say so far I am impressed. Its all kydex but has moleskin on the outside of the holster to make it less painful when it comes in contact with bare skin. I dont normally wear an undershirt and so far I'm really liking this holster. I have it for my VP9 and it conceals the weapon really well considering it is a G17 size weapon.

I prefer single clip holsters because i like to be able to move the weapon around to make it comfortable in different positions (sitting, standing, etc). I always wear a belt so I make that tight to prevent any unwanted movement. Just my .02 cents
