Most states do not require a permit to keep a handgun in a person's own home. Her RV would be considered her residence and the laws for possession in a residence would apply, not the carrying laws, unless she carried it outside her RV. It sounds like possession by a resident in their own home and carrying in public or in a vehicle are being confused.

In some states yes, in others no. While it's parked somewhere it would be probably be considered a residence. If it were my mom I would just give here a gun. If she wants a Florida CCW she can get that any place she lives by Mail just send for a Packet.

Just wanted to say thanks for all of the replies to this thread. Sorry I took so long to say thanks. Right after I posted this question, there was a death in the family, & I honestly just forgot about this post with everything that was going on.
It all ended up a moot question anyway. My wife decided to ride up with her Mom & spend a week with their family, & took her own pistol (she has a CCW) on the trip. Brought it back when she came home. My M-I-L will get her own handgun when she goes back to to Florida in the spring.
