Complicated out of state purchase ?

Her best bet is to return to FLA. Get her CCW and buy her snubbie after the permit comes. This will give a legal right to carry in 32 states LEGALY. My other advise would be for BOTH of you to look at this web site.

If she is planing a trip to Maine driving there is going to be IMPOSSIBLE to do LEGALY. She has to get through MD. N.J. N.Y. CT. MA. and Maine does not honor Florida's CCW permit.
For her peace of mind she may want to re-think the snubbie for traveling. Three working day wait without CCW permit

Most states do not require a permit to keep a handgun in a person's own home. Her RV would be considered her residence and the laws for possession in a residence would apply, not the carrying laws, unless she carried it outside her RV. It sounds like possession by a resident in their own home and carrying in public or in a vehicle are being confused.

In some states yes, in others no. While it's parked somewhere it would be probably be considered a residence. While it's on the road I think many states wouldn't consider it to be a residence at that point.

If it were my mom I would just give here a gun. If she wants a Florida CCW she can get that any place she lives by Mail just send for a Packet.

Just wanted to say thanks for all of the replies to this thread. Sorry I took so long to say thanks. Right after I posted this question, there was a death in the family, & I honestly just forgot about this post with everything that was going on.

It all ended up a moot question anyway. My wife decided to ride up with her Mom & spend a week with their family, & took her own pistol (she has a CCW) on the trip. Brought it back when she came home. My M-I-L will get her own handgun when she goes back to to Florida in the spring.

Thanks again to everyone for all of the advice.
