Compare Glock 19 and Walther P-99

Can anyone post a pic that compares the G-19 and the P-99 in the same frame?

I would also be interested in your opinions on these two firearms.

I think both are good performers with the Walther having a slight edge pertaining to feel. I had the P99 in 40 cal so it was hard to compare side by side with the 9mm. I sold it to a friend of mine because I didn't care for the 40. Maybe it was the ammo I was using, but it seemed to have a lot of "muzzle flip". For the average guy either one should last a long time, with maybe the Glock holding an advantage if you are into accessories. I prefer he looks of the Walther.

Thanks for your response. I went to a local gun store on 6/1 and compared the two side by side. The P-99 is less that 1/2 inch longer and slightly taller in hgt.

Is there that big of a difference between the S&W P-99 and the Walther P-99?

Let me put it like this. A Camry and a Lexus are both made from Toyota parts. But the fit and finish on the Lexus make a big difference.

The same applies to the pistol. Smith & Wesson makes the SW99 from a lot of the same parts as the P99. But the fit and finish on the German Walther is in another league.

tlhelmer,

Is this the comparison you were looking for?

Those two images, although part of the same graphic, are not the same scale! When I put any of my P99s next to a Glock 32 (same size as a Glock 19), the P99 is taller. That photo is misleading. The P99 is 5.37 inches high, but the Glock 19 (and 23 and 32) are only 5 inches high. They are made to be the same height in the photo. I really like the P99, and own four of them, but they need to be compared fairly.

I find that the P99 is somewhere between the G17 and G19 in length and height.

Personally the P99 performs better for me. I can shoot it a lot better than the spongy triggered Glock.

lunde, the picture was not meant to mislead, tlhelmer said he wanted a picture with both guns on it and that is what I posted. I am sorry if the picture was misleading, it was not meant to be.

I have a second generation G19 and a P99 Military, both are 9 mm. I like both pistols, but I like the G19 better as does the Boss Lady.(And she's just a little gal!)

I have shot both the G19 and the P99. The Walther has a sweeter trigger, both are easy to shoot as well as fun. I just prefer the P99. It must be the looks, or the handling. It just feels nicer in the hands.
But if you want more bang for the buck the g19 is probably a little cheaper, and doesnt have that long double action trigger pull.

Conclusion: IMO the Walther is nicer
