Compact .45

Cobraman, Know exactly where you are.. Have a good friend who lives on Jungle Road. Which means you are real close to the Seminole County Rifle and Pistol facility.. Good luck on your search for a Springfield. Mark / FL

I have the Colt lt. wt. officer and the Kimber Ultra Elite (the current CDP) both and they are both fine weapons. Save some money and go with the Kimber ultra carry. You still get the quality and most of the bells and whistles without the higher price. Both the colt and kimber have been satisfactory once the proper magazines were procured.

Well, it may not be a 1911 "style" per say, but the Glock 30 compact .45 is one of the most popular of them all. I have one and its so accurate out of the box I was amazed. Put some Trijicon night sites on it and you got yourself a sweet conceal big dawg.

I love the G30; but it's too thick (how do you hide the grip?)

1911 with AFS slimtech grips for me - it's a little easier to shoot anyway, although it holds less rounds and lacks that Glock indestructability (don't take this as a 1911 flame, I love them both, Glock is 99.999999% where 1911 is 99.99% :) ).

I like my SS Kimber Ultra Carry. It has a 3" barrel instead of the 4" that the Compact has(earlier posts mentioned the Compact). The new CDP version now has 'meltdown treatment', nite-sights, ambi safeties, etc., and the price has gone up a bit.

I also like my Kimber stainless Ultra Carry.

The people are responsible for the character of their Congress. If that body be ignorant,
reckless, and corrupt, it is because the people tolerate ignorance, recklessness, and corruption. If it
be intellegent, brave and pure, it is because the people demand these high qualities to represent
them in the national legislature.

For the Glock 30 I use a Defender belly band by Action Direct. It works VERY well for concealing under your shirt and semi or fully IWB. Will work under your belt on your strong side just behind your pants pocket or in the small of your back.

Just my .02

Cobraman: You know what they say about guys with little hands?

Small gloves, and single stack mags. What'd you think I was going to say???

Or in the words of Homer Simpsons: "Son you have little fingers, reach under the lawn mower and pull out the roller skate" BZZZZZZZ chuck chuck" Never mind"
Yeah the only places little hands has helped in is rock climbing. It's all single stack for me baby! Except my Sig p228
