Come the first of the year

Have heard the .40 is more of a bear to shoot than the 45. Am trying to learn what I can learn off forums like this, so I ask. The nearest store that carries these weapons (not all, but some) is a 150 mile round trip.

The .40 is not bad to shoot, the recoil is no worse than a 45 but just feels different. The 9mm is pretty gentle in the G19 as far as recoil goes and it does get you 15+1 rounds the same as the full size G22 for .40. I have not tried shooting the subcompact models, but they don't seem to fit my hand as well as the compact or full size models.

I agree with Wally 626, the 40 is not bad to shoot at all. It is a little snappier than a 45, but by no means is it unpleasant. The .40 is one of my favorite calibers to fire.

Test fire before you buy! Won't be regretting anything. And you should really consider things other than Glock. M&P in .40 is just a beauty, no matter what people say about the round. There really isn't too much recoil at all. The subcompact one feels almost exactly like the full size too.
