Colt Trooper MK III

Great revolver. Very strong and under-appreciated.

I traded a Mauser Parabellum P08 straight across for this 6" MKIII in 1980. I had a near mint Python that I sold a couple of years ago, but kept the Trooper. The stocks are Herrett's Shooting Stars.

The mk III action dates to 1969 when Colt went to a different manufacturing process. While the action didn't have the silky smoothness of the older V springs they were brute strong and developed a reputation for accuracy and dependabiliy. Even today they are underappreciated. Wolff springs can supply any replacement springs you might need. You got a great gun at a good price in todays market. The caution about dry firing should be noted. If you want to practice with it, use snap caps. They're cheap insurance.
