Colt saa torx screws?

I haven't had a problem with screws backing out on a Colt in 357 or in 44spl. Nor with a Ruger blackhawk in 44spl. I did have screws back out on the grips of a Kahr MK40 and a drop of blue loctite solved the problem.

I'll just get a set custom made I suppose, tighten them once, and laugh while you purists are re-tightening your screws every 10 rounds.
Already ROTFLMAO at this I've only been shooting SA revolvers for 30 years and have never had a problem with slotted screws backing out. But then again I use the right screwdriver.

What is going on here? OP asked a simple question. It's his Colt. Whatever he decides to do with it is his choice. If he thinks it would look better, or function better with a pink barrel, blue cylinder, pearl grips, and torx screws, it's his choice. I for one see no problem in changing any part of any gun I own as long as it will not affect the function. Collector quality firearms being the sole exception.
Just my opinion.

How about a set for a Ruger Blackhawk? It's about time to use them in a modern revolver. I did try Allen socket screws and they were a disaster..the allen wrenches would round out at the tip.

Obviously, no matter how wrong-headed it is. I think it's the statement made in post #10 that has folks a little riled up.

Especially, looking back through previous posts, that this is his first firearm and has had it only a few weeks. Perhaps a few questions would've been more prudent than a scolding for not falling lockstep with his idea.

BFR's have torx screws holding the grip frame in place and yes, it's ugly.

"I'll just get a set custom made..."

Where? I have several applications for which I would like to use Torx screws but don't know where to find them in odd sizes.

esthetics of torx

I think torx screws look just fine for many applications. But they would be highly inappropriate on an antique or a replica thereof. About this:
Collector quality firearms being the sole exception.
This definition applies to all Colt SAA revolvers, even if the bluing is completely worn off and the surface severely pitted, or, even if they are brand new. Just look at the price of them. Maybe someone could get rich marketing a Torx-head replacement screw set for the Colt SAA; but I doubt it.
