Colt no longer making 1911's?

napoleon, Bullet Trap is probably giving out info that is 6 months out of date and telling people Colt sold out the shooters. If they are then they are getting their info from the newpaper. The guy that wrote the letter you saw was fired about a week after it went out. Most of it is untrue and parts that are true are misleading.
 
Well I just called Kiesler's. They said that Colt has laid off all employees except the custom shop. THey can not get any financing to start up anything. I could try to order a Colt but would have to pay all up front and they could not gaurentee that I would get the gun. and this is coming from friends that I know and trust. Looks like Colt is about to Give up the ghost.
 
your salesman at rsr may have gotten that info from his boss but i am afaid that that infor is false.if rsr or any wholesaler is getting these they are getting them in a wholesaler to wholesaler trade.colt has reportedly paid off some of the advertisers and wholesalers that extended them credit or loans with some guns but it has been very few.the info kevin has is closer to the truth and dont let anyone tell you any differnt.regards.ed
 
Talked with Mr. Zilkha today, he want to make colt work, there still haveing problems bit looks like they may come back. He seems to be a smart man who wants Colt to make it. Will see. He a nice fellow and I think he may be able to turn it around with some guidence.
 
I hate to burst our bubble but Kieslers is THE largest colt Distributor in the world. I spoke with the person who does the ordering from colt. In the past fw months they have recived 3 (THREE) guns from colt. All were from the cusom shop which is the only dept remaining for all practical aplications. Colt is just blowing smoke up our ass. they are done. Zilkha is an antigun puppet who probably pulls a Monica Lewinski for Clinton whenever he goes to an HCI fundraiser.
 
Well let me add to this discussion too...seems to be so much "agreement" out there on what Colt is doing. I read in the Weekly World News that aliens have taken over Colt and are using the facilities to create their dreaded "death ray gun" in order to effectively eliminate all the competition. This IS the absolute truth!
