Hi folks. I am a new member. I found this thread while doing some research on my Diamondback. I have what appears to be a 1978 model with a 4" barrel and nickel finish. The gun has the original black grips. It looks identical to the gun near the bottom of page 1 of this thread. It's time to do a bit of herd thinning, so I am offering my Diamondback for sale. I am asking $1100, which seems to be reasonable. I am attaching a picture to get some feedback on how to score the condition. The bore is perfect, but the finish is no longer bright and shiny. I feel like the gun is probably in the 80-85% range in terms of condition. I would appreciate any feedback based upon the attached photo.
Does anyone have any ideas on the best way to restore the nickel back to a nice, bright look? I really don't want to have to send the gun back to Colt. Are there any polishes that would work for this purpose without damaging the finish? Thank you in advance for any feedback.
Regards,
Frank
