Colt D vs. S&W K

Colt Gurus

Where does the Colt Official Police (1969) fit into the scheme of things? Do they hold up well under many rounds? Mine is in mint condition and has the best trigger I have felt in a revolver DA in many moons. I am thinking of carrying it on the armored Truck job because of the gunports. They wouldn't seem to lend themselves well to sticking an auto thru them.

I don't mean to steer this thread into a discussion about the Colt Magnum Carry but it is a D-frame, right?
I've been keeping an eye out for anyone to tell me how they are junk. I will not take it personally or whine. Is it a Ford vs. Chevy thing? Is it that Colt only made it for a short time before they chickened out of the market? Am I way off base to think it's a great little piece, maybe as good as it gets for a production model? Help me out here.

Colts are way cool and so are old S&Ws . A 69 official police is just the thing to shoot bad guy in face with 158lswchp IF timing is still good and properly lubed. Go qualify with it and make your decision. About magnum carry, as I said another American Tradgedy the gun did not continue in development/production I want one sintered parts and all but cant find one in Ca.:( I think the 70s-80s Dick Specials are the best all around snub if you like the trigger curve, some dont.

Most of the animus against the 1990s vintage Colt revolvers is based upon fit and finish. They simply don't look as good as the revolvers Colt produced decades earlier. (Of course, some Colt fans think that their death knell tolled with the introduction of the Mark III series.)

The same thing will bite S&W in the hind quarters if they aren't careful. Their MIM-internal revolvers are drifting down into Taurus territory, and that isn't a compliment. Taurus quality at Taurus prices isn't too bad, but it becomes intolerable at S&W prices.

Mag Carry parts

My own Magnum carry has been a very good gun, and i have no complaints. Neither do the other folks I know who own them.
Modern Smiths have sintered metal parts too by the way , and they are not even chromed to protect them from the elements.
My own Magnum Carry appears to have one or two internal components made of either Berrylium Copper or some form of Titanium plated stuff, as they are a bronze/gold color.
