Colt Commander

I have a satin finish Combat Commander, has MMC sights installed, much easier to shoot with though I wish I could find another factory slide. If I were to obtain a CCW that would probaly be my first choice.
The late great Finn Aagard said it best-"The only safety is behind the eyes and between the ears."

There is truth to the belief that adding parts increases the possibility of failure, but I would be very surprised if the parts most likely to fail on a Series 80 pistol are any of the parts associated with the S80 system.
The four parts are made of hardened steel, with a return spring about as strong as the spring on a retractable pen.

Colt Commander!

I also have the Wiley Clapp "21st Century" Lgtwt Commander and love it!

I recently got a deal on a Ruger Lgtwt Commander. It carries and shoots very
comfortably and well.

I love mine. Very accurate and easy to CCW.

I own 4 1911 pistols, a Springfield Armory Mil Spec that was customized to shoot Bullseye matches back in the day when I was in competing, a Dan Wesson Classic in 10mm, a Kimber Ultra Carry II I like a lot for warm summer day carry.

By far my most favorite 1911 is my Colt Commander. It also has been massaged a little with Novak night sights, checkered front grip and bobtailed for carry, but before I had all this done to it, I shot and carried it a lot. To me the commander length 1911 just feels right in my hand. I just personalized mine to my tastes, not that it really needed the mods. You won't go wrong with a bone stock Colt Commander IMO.
