Colt .38 Army of 1884.. cylinder won't turn.

Thinking about trying to rig up a deal that will minutely vibrate the pan…?
Aquarium air pumps do a great job of circulating solvents

If you have a compressor and some valves to control the flow you can rig that up to work also

Eureka…!

The cylinder finally broke loose last evening..started with about a 1/16 " play and I gradually worked it free over the next 1/5 hour…a total of 4 days soaking in diesel and a day soaking in the blaster lube….at last…Now the blueing process begins..etc…etc...

Glad to hear it worked out for you

Patience usually wins in these cases

The longest I remember soaking one was 8 days.

It was Ruger Single Six that was in a safe during a house fire in which the safe fell through the floor.

The contents inside didn't get too hot, but it melted the dial on the safe, and it sat in water a few weeks before it could be opened

Holy Moses!

I'm pretty much a masochist when it comes to taking on impossible "restoration" (i.e. reclamation) projects, but I don't think even I would have touched that one. Good work.
