CNN: Glenn Beck's "Exposed: The Extremist Agenda."

Did anyone see Glenn Beck's program on CNN tonight?

I don't get cable here and am wondering what your thoughts were on the program.

I watched it - the only new tidbit for me was the number of "schools" to pump kids full of hate that our friends the Saudi's have set up reportedly numbers 25,000. Since our President has such a cozy relationship with them, maybe he should have a talk with them about this.

Idenpendent of what I think about Islamic extremism, I found it to be sensationalist propaganda and shameless self promotion (at least he admitted to being biased).

Beck was a little too fond of pointing out that it was "he alone, bringing to you these shocking facts".

It would have been more effective if he just reported it as news.

Beck was a little too fond of pointing out that it was "he alone, bringing to you these shocking facts".

He was trying to make the point that the liberal media machine refuses to report it............and BTW he is alone virtually in bring those shocking facts.

To any of you who have listened to Beck for more than a couple of shows on his radio talk show, you know how awesome he is and how smart he is. If you are a liberal he is going to make you mad by proving just how insane your thinking is. If you are a conservative you will be amazed at how funny he is and how right he is. He is my favorite radio talk show host with Rush and Savage well behind.

Fixed it for you. Clinton had a very close relationship with the Saudis as well. The history of our screwing ourselves over in that area is far from a partisan issue. It's based on the: 1) fact that we needed those bases; 2) needed their oil; 3) needed their support in the Arab community; and 4) didn't mind shooting ourselves in the foot (including giving their faction quite a bit of power over Islamic chaplains in the military) in order to get 1-3.

I was wondering what y'all thought of the video segments, actually. What kind of impact did they have on you personally -- and what conclusions (if any) did you come to?

I didn't see the show, so I'm looking for your reactions to the videos.
Of course I have my own opinions but I'd like to hear what you thought before I put forth mine.

The video segments didn't have much impact as far as I was concerned. Take for instance the segment on suicide bombers. There was absolutely no mention of the twin towers or the Cole. As another example, the segment on Ahmadinejad did not include any of the statements he's made calling for the annihilation of Israel. It was understated and not as hard hitting as it could have been and of course there was the obligatory segment at the end with the moderate Muslims calling for peace. I believe the CNN editors must have put some restrictions on his presentation. Having said all that, for the average viewer it might have been an eye opener. I hope so.

Alright I'll bite. I saw the show. It just affirms what I have only heard about, without transcripts and translations, from other sources. The level of anti-Semitic and anti west/democracy propaganda exceeds that put out by (look out Godwin) Hitler. I really don't think Godwin has been evoked as this is a very real genocidal comparison, very similar in both content and delivery to great masses of people including children. And since the comparison was made several times during the special.

IMO we are in a pressure cooker. During every other time in history where so many people were compelled to participate in genocide or war it has just been a matter of time before the compulsion exploded into action. They are not indoctrinating their second or third generation of children not to achieve some result.

Many of the fundamentalist Islamic leaders are attempting to fulfill the prophecy of the Koran. In doing this they also fulfill Christian and Jewish prophesy.

I am not a Bible thumper, but even viewed as a simple literary work, the comparison to some of the "End Times" prophecy contained in there is chilling.

As for Glen Beck, I listen to him on the radio some until I get tired of listening to some of his droning rants. I think he is somewhat ahead of the curve on reporting on these things, in fact I don't know if the curve will catch up to him before there is another major attack which is likely to kill many more than 9-11.

I think he is somewhat ahead of the curve on reporting on these things,

Ahead of what curve. The line behind Beck is straight. The mainstream media refuses to report anything bad about Muslims. Just like they continually force feed us pictures of atrocities and destruction caused by our troop yet never show the people who embraced as they jumped from the twin towers to their death. The liberal media has an agenda and winning the war against terror isn't on that agenda.

We are facing some seriously troubling time ahead and the show only made me worry more. It could have been harsher against Muslim extremists but it was a start.

I believe the CNN editors must have put some restrictions on his presentation.

How right you are. He's complained in the past about having to "fight for every single word" of that particular program. The vetting process went something like this:

1. snippets from mainstream public broadcasts (in many cases from state-owned media) were gathered.
2. said snippets were translated by The Middle East Media Research Group.
3. Translations were verified by an independent translation house in CA. Don't know the name.
4. Source material with translations flown past CNN. Lots of fighting at this point about what could and couldn't go in.

Apparently even the approval process took about a month.

I think since we live in a world of "sanitized" & "cleaned up" news because it is too shocking for the avarage viewer and children, we will never truly appreciate or understand what is going on anywhere in the world. Personally, I think a lot of Americans NEED a little "shock and awe" too. Just enough to quit defending the muslim extremists or any other group that threatens us. I don't know how many of you have seen the beheadings they have on tape, I saw one of them, it was sickening to see another human do what they did. It wasn't swift like a guillotine or a Samuri sword.. no,, they were sawing off the peoples heads, slowly. I think the tapes are still viewable to anyone with a strong stomach on Michael Savage.com. ALL Americans need a good dose of reality I think and to get their heads out of the sand or whatever other hole they may have them in.

Well Bill are you ready to put your opinions forth?

Oh yeah, before I forget..

On the head-cutting thing. Apparently that's one of the four ways that the Jihadis believe they're allowed to treat (male) prisoners. Twisted excuses for human beings, them.

Info from:
Knowing the Enemy: Jihadist Ideology and the War on Terror

Among other things, it goes into how there's just not any hope of peaceful coexistence with them. The idea is to learn from Mohammad's example -- build a core of dedicated believers, establish an area from which true Sharia is practiced (like pre-war Afghanistan) and from there spread radical Islam over the whole of the world. The very idea of a national border is apparently anathema to 'em, as it means someone's putting their national identity over the will of God, which needs to cover the whole earth through Sharia law so there can be world peace.

No, I don't think they can accomplish that. I do think that goal shows their ideology isn't one that it's ever possible to make peace with. It's quite literally an "us or them" situation. They won't stop killing people till they're dead.

Yech....

We need new policies.

The people who are planning these atrocities need our swift and
vigorous responses before they hurt us. I mean a totally new policy
that will hunt and kill them before they even do it to us. I don't care where
they are, Saudi Arabia, Pakistan, Or afganistan, If I am the govt. I will\selectively bomb & kill them until they change their tune. This is a totally
new terror and the only thing they will listen to is unrelenting and
shocking force.
