Sorry if I get a bit off the thread, but the answer to that question
if the .44 Mag is good for bear,was plain cool.Let me quote:

Sorry for still being off the thread,but rumor has it the nickel
finish on S&W 19s,27s,29s was of rather lousy quality ie
chiping,flaking etc. Truth or BS?

DARTH - Good question on the nickel finish. You might want to start a new thread on the question since it will probably get lost in this thread.
