cleaning hand gun

I have been using Gunzilla to clean and MPro 7 oil to lubricate for a while now with pleasing results. Breakfree CLP is also a very good product.

The one product that I have not tried yet but keep hearing great things about is Weapon Shield.

I don't care for Remoil because it's very thin and seems to be as much a solvent as a lube.

I've come to appreciate lubes that are still there and not dried up when I take my gun out of the safe six months from now. Combination grease-oil preps work well.

Wilson's Ultima-Lube Universal is good stuff for us SIG users. Or any gun where you have a steel slide rubbing against an aluminum frame.

Also, TW25B is an excellent grease. I use it in the trigger mechanism. So does Sig Sauer. When you want to clean it, just blow it out with GunScrubber, dry with canned air, and relube with the syringe type applicator. Make up your own combo of grease and oil, if you like.

BreakFree works fine, and so does Mobil One synthetic--one quart will last near forever. Great for AR's, too.

All the lubes work, but some last longer than others. And I'm a firm believer in GREASE for aluminum frame rails.

Just my thoughts on the matter.

I've used Hopp'es #9 on all of my handguns, including my nickel plated S&W Model 19 that I have owned for 25 years. I'm not sure why you wouldn't use Hoppe's since it has not harmed the nickel finish at all during all of these years. For me, Hoppe's #9 is more than just a clearning solvent; the smell brings back my memories of cleaning guns with my Dad, who has been gone for 37 years.
