Choices of 22 pistol

I can't say enough good things about the Ruger MK II, this one is well tuned and, very accurate.

Sticking with .22LR?

Greetings Firingline! I'm new to this forum, first reply!

To the OP; not sure if your wanting to stick with the .22LR or not, but I can personally attest to the "fun factor" of the Kel Tec PMR-30 chambered in .22magnum. It comes with two 30 round magazines and its pretty light even when fully loaded. Just something to consider. Good luck with whatever you pick up!

For target shooting, the Ruger Marks are hard to beat. I have two, one standard grip and one 22/45 and they both give me cloverleaf groups at 30 feet if I do my part. I shoot against Buckmarks and a Victory most weekends at the local gun club, and both are good guns from what I can see. The Victory looks like it is the easiest to break down for cleaning. The Rugers are a bear until you get the hang of it. I may pick up a Victory just to see if it can run with the Ruger. You can't really pick a bad one of those three, so it just comes down to your choice of grip, looks, price, ease of takedown, etc.

Those are all good guns,,,

Those are all good guns,,,
The differences will be un-measurable.

Just get the one that fits your hand,,,
It's pretty much guaranteed that's the one you'll shoot best with.

Buckmark Contour

I have a Buckmark Contour 7.25 with a scope. Off a sandbag, at 25 yards, it shoots one inch groups. Very nice gun. That's my 2 cents worth.

"My shooting buddy has a MKII and I have a Buck Mark. They are both outstanding."

This. I own multiples in both and have nothing but positive experiences. Handle both and get whichever one feels better to you.

I've pretty much had most all of the common USA made .22 rimfire pistols cross my bench over time, and have fired most all that still exist. My personal favorite resides with the Ruger Mark pistols, and has for over 40+ years.

With some careful stoning, sear and hammer work, these pistols will run right along side any of the so-called Target grade pistols that have been put out by Browning, Colt, High Standard, and Smith & Wesson.

Include the Beretta Neos in your list. Its lower cost than the ones you mention, begs for an optic, has the smoothest magazines, and is very accurate, and reliable. Spend the money you save on a good optic, like the Primary Arms Advance Micro Red Dot, and you will have a pistol that will shoot as good as all the rest, for less money.

My buckmark was stolen many years ago and I held off replacing it watching the prices go up and up. It was a great pistol and I finally replaced it with a Ruger 22/45. Both are tack drivers! Only drawback is Ruger reassembly but after doing it enough times you can almost do it without having the manual on your lap!:)
I'd do the Ruger again based on price!
