Chiappa Rhino

1/2 Cherokee and 1/2 Chinese. His name is Uhg Lee!
The hill kid ran away from home to Hollywood. The first actress he saw looked very different from the home spun gals around home, so he called her ugly.

I wonder what recoil forces would do to the small wrist bones due to this unorthodox wrist alignment
Now you've got me all curious about the meaning of "unorthodox." Are 1911's unorthodox because they aren't like a Colt SAA?

I know that this is a old thread "Love Gun" but I don't see where anyone answer your question on the Rhino either.

For the answer I have shot one and now own one! :D

I love the revolver as it is as compact as a Ruger SP-101 but with one (1) extra round (6 v. 5) The muzzle flip with .357s is next to nothing even out of 2" barrel due to the barrel being at the 6 o'clock position which is closer to the axis of you arm.

I'm currently carrying the Rhino as my daily carry piece, I feel that comfortable with the quaility and reliability of this little revolver.

I find this gun strangely attractive, and im sure by design is comfortable to shoot as well, but i have to go wih the guy who talked about a blowout. thats a really dangerous spot for your finger to be without much protection at all.

I've never heard of a revolver coming apart unless the shooter was using reloads which weren't properly loaded. I would never use reloads for defensive ammo so for me this Rhino coming apart is a non-issue.

i agree w stmichps. i have a rhino and i dont plan to put anything exceptionally hot/reloads through it, so i dont think it coming apart will happen.( at least i hope so, i am fond of my digits/shooting hand, dont want to part w them!!:D)

I haven't had the opportunity to fire one yet but have handled a few. Aside from it's bizzare looks, it seems to fit the hand well and the trigger pull is acceptable.

I have heald one of there 2 inch models. It feels like a 1911 and a j-frame had a breach baby. :p

but really it is not that bad to hold, I have not shot one yet.

I shot one when they first came out, and I was pleasantly surprised. Muzzle flip was less than a traditional revolver, and it pointed and shot reasonably well.

Then I started seeing problems. One came from the factory with serious timing issues, and a second one had a cylinder that was too close to the breech face and would lock up when dirty.

In the second case, we had a gunsmith look at it, and he was dismayed at the somewhat delicate and byzantine lockwork. It may end up being a good gun, but I'd wait a bit for Chiappa to iron the kinks out.

It's a very cool design to me. It would be even cooler if Chiappa made the big rib above the barrel detachable, maybe via picatinny rail, so aftermarket makers could easily create parts to fit. A laser sight would fit nicely in that currently wasted space.
