I would buy a new magazine.

The feed ramp is built into the magazine. This is usually the root of function issues.

FWIW: I have a Charter Arms AR7 that I have owned for decades. I have shot thousands of rounds through it. At one point, I started having function issues. I replaced the magazine and the problem went away.

I have owned a couple Charter AR7’s...I still own an Explorer pistol and an AR7. Both have been trouble free.

OP is 7 years old.
A burst of 3 shots indicates a worn or broken sear. Or possibly somebody damaged the thing trying to do a trigger job.
