Buskster raised the idea of martial law. As I recall, the Federal Government does not have any statute that permits the a nationwide martial law declaration. That power is certainly not in the Constitution.

There are, supposedly, limited powers when declaring a "National Emergency" but as I recally those are not only constrained by time but by Congress (small hope, but hope nevertheless).

I think the idea is for your kind to come over here beforehand I'd happily trade most of the Denver and Boulder population for some rural California folks. Just learn to drive when you get here
