Century horror stories...let's hear em'

I could swear I started the "drunken monkeys" term many years ago...
Every rifle I've had from Century that they didn't build, Mosins, Mausers, etc., were just fine.
CETME. One magazine fired through it, and then the magwell refused to lock in a mag, bolt would not strip a round when I could get a mag in. Bolt flat ground, rollers seriously oversize, bolt gap way off. Gunsmith laughed and said, "No." I had owned the gun for less than a month, and Century said it was out of warrantee, as their 1 year warantee starts when the rifle is BUILT, not when sold. Managed to find a guy who loved to tinker, and sold it to him at a loss. Fastest way to get my wife to have steam pour out of her ears is to say the word CETME.
WASR-10, canted front sight, trigger slap from Hades. Red Star trigger installed, front sight re aligned and pined by local gunsmith. Still wouldn't hit the broadside of a barn at 100 yards. Functioned perfectly, except for that critical part of putting the bullets where I wanted them to go. Sold for a Yugo SKS, which was a better rifle by far.
I have this weird thing - if I buy a rifle from a company, I kinda expect it to work, first time. When you build a rifle and sell it, it should work. If you sell an import rifle that's 70 years old, I understand it may have issues, but as I said, every milsurp I got from Century worked great - the ones they built did not.
Caveat - the Century made vz-2008 rifles seem to have quite a good following, and are supposedly built off site by someone who has half a functioning brain. That would be the only Century made product I MIGHT, MIGHT try again.

Buy direct from them all the time, you generally get what you pay for. Might buy ten or so Mosin's at a crack for example, three might be considered exceptional for the price, four would be considered worth it, and three might be considered marginal.

As far as the pieced together "new" guns...again, you get what you pay for, but in general you get a serviceable firearm that would cost twice as much from someone else.

WASR-10

Bought a Century WASR-10 about a year or so ago and it isn't a piece of art but is very functional looking. Fires well and no problems except on one trip to the range I fired about 100 rounds and had several jams. I cleared each jam successfully and kept firing. After the session I cleared the weapon, checking the chamber to be sure it was empty and put it away. When I got home I took it out and stripped it to clean it and a very battered live round fell out. Now i know it wasn't in the chamber nor anyplace I could see it when I cleared the weapon to put it away, so where was it? (Could not get the image in here for some reason)
