Census: did anyone else NOT get counted?

I remeber this last summer that many of you were throwing your census papers away, etc.. Did anyone else not get a form or a call or on site visit like me. I have lived here over 10 years, vote religously, pay taxes, etc.. It is not like they couldn't find me.

I find it interesting that they say that they know how many they tdidn't get in the inner city but rural Indiana is a far cry from the inner city.

I got the long form, told my wife we were not filling it out. My wife, wanting to be a good citizen, called and said we needed a new form (lost, never rec'd, whatever). they sent the regular form, which we filled out & sent in. Got several knocks on the door. The first I answered and firmly but politely told them that I sent in the form, and I have no time to speak to you. My wife was instructed to do the same. They came back 2 or 3 more times, saying they had not rec'd my form. I basically told them "tough luck" - I sent the form in and I am not answering your questions.

Got the long form and answered the questions of name, sex, and number living there. That's all. Never got a visit from anyone and I had the $100 earmarked for the fine if they did.

I did my part...

Here in Massachusetts there is no hope for a Pro-Gun sect in our Congressional Component. So i did my part to reduce the anti-gun forces from Massachusetts. I filled out the form and put down "none" for the number of people living at my residence, in an attempt to shrink the number of Reps from Massachusetts.

Live in the same place as last time.Reseved no form nor vist.Of course it took them 4 time to count me last time.

I wonder if the wife and I were counted. I didn't complete the form due to the unnecessary questions. When a worker came around I told him that two adults live in the residence. He started to ask the other questions but I cut him off and explained that he would get no additional information. He said "Somevon Vill be bach" and I ignored him and he went away. And even better, they didn't do a follow up as he said they would.

Hilarious! :)

I refused to fill out the long form. They sent a nice lady 'round to ask questions. Must have been a tough afternoon for her...she had to stop at every house on the cul-de-sac, but they were *very* brief stops.

No cooperation with the bureaucrats here...

No form, fone call, visit what-so-ever recieved here at my location... Guess they dont like Republicans in NJ! Then again I dont like NJ all that much either.

Got the short form. Threw it away. When worker came to visit I said I'd be glad to answer any questions IF they first supplied me with a signed and dated letter from the census director, stating that the info would not be used against me in court, and my 5th amendment rights would be preserved. Lady looked perplexed, checked her little box marked "refused", and left.

Nothing. No form, phone call, and no visit. I almost called them up to ask when they'd be stopping by so I could tell the worker to bugger off.....

My wife was instructed to answer "There are three people living here," and then shut the door.

But, no one ever came around. so we never got counted. They know where I'm at...I keep sending the IRS a check every month to pay back taxes they say I owe. I'd rather not, but I don't have the money to fight them and I don't want to spend any time in prison....

Hmmmmm

I've heard on a few news shows that they're claiming this is one of the best - most accurate - one's they've had 95% or better.

I wonder how they determine they have 95% of something if they don't know what the total is ........

Anyone know where we can see the results on line.

95% of people counted X 281 million people ACTUALLY counted = 295.7 million people ESTIMATED counted = 14 million people NOT ACTUALLY COUNTED.

Hey, a million people here, a million people there and pretty soon you have more people than live in most western states.

Apparently, not counting the Western states (minus Ca) is about the equivalent of those people that did not get counted this time. And the census people ARE PROUD of that fact???

I got the long form...used a Marx-a-lot on all the Q's except #1 and wrote "unconstitutional" on the Q's. Wifey did same. I received a call about a month later, asking questions and all...I told her (caller) to get the *ell of my telephone and hung up. I haven't heard a peep since.

Co-worker did roughly the same on his form...he go a visit. He told 'em to get off his land or he'd call the Sheriff. they left, and he's heard nothing else.

We were enumerated and that's it.

Pretty sad...

If you weren't counted, and you live in a rural area, you just gave an increased advantage to the folks who live in urban areas when time comes for congressional redistricting, etc...

You know about those city folks, the folks who usually elect folks like Clinton? They _all_ get counted, sometimes several times...

Congratulations. Hope you feel real good about foolin' the government...

FWIW, I filled mine in for "2 adults" and left it at that.

Hey all

Been a long time since I posted, but saw the thread and thought I would. We filled out part of the short form and sent it in. Never heard another word at all. Intresting thing is tho' My neighbor and myself were the only ones on our road to get forms. Two out of 12 gee you'd think they might be a little better with the mailing addresses then again maybe they did'nt want to be. Like it was said earlier, they only count the ones they want?

Best wishes Best luck Poacher.

Hey, I never fooled the government. They just never bothered to get a hold of me. They didn't even try.

I would have told them how many people live in my house, but they never bothered to ask.

So, who's fooling who? You think they really care if ALL the people get counted, especially in pro-gun and pro-freedom states? I doubt it.

I didn't get a form or a visit.

So, the three folks in my house at the time (me and two Russians I was helping out) didn't get counted.

I'm neither inner city nor rural. Sorta in between.

We got the short form. I answered "2". Two adults live at my place of residence (my wife and myself). The rest of the questions were simply none of their business. Several weeks later, one of the census workers called. I returned his call, but he wasn't home, so I spoke to his wife. I politely told her that I had answered all the questions on the form that I cared to, so there was no point in him trying to set up an interview. Never heard back from him, so I guess he got the message.

I answered the number of people at residence question that was all.

On the bright side of the reaportionment of Congress, I heard on the local news that there is still potential for one more to be added to Utah. That is good in that there is already one, and would probably stay one democrat out of that for the urban SLC area, the rest of the state is just too the right of Charlton Heston on gun issues. The reason we might get another; the LDS church has 60,000 missionaries serving around the world, a big chunk of them are from Utah, and are still considered Utah residents. Our legs. are pushing to have them recognized. Another repub would come in handy.
