Celebrity Anti-Gunners-The List

A hollywood type... a hypocrit?!? SHOCKED!! I am just SHOCKED!!

George Takei, an actor whom I've enjoyed watching in several roles beyond Mr Sulu, was vehemently against US involvement in Viet Nam. He protested, marched and spoke out against it. BUT, he co-starred in John Wayne's The Green Beret" as ARVN Capt Nim. Trying to, as he's character said, "kill all stinkin' Cong". Wave a juicy role, screen time & credits, and a wad of cash and... Hollywood hypocracy. :barf:

Why The Interest?

I don't understand what the big deal is about listing all the antigun celebrities. Can someone explain why this subject is on this forum at all.

It's amazing to me that so many Actors that are SOOOO anti-gun seem to be in sooo many action films thats pretty much guns and explosions. Funny how that is, why practice what you can preach when you can preach and count the millions you make from going against your "principles". -BamaXD

Once you lose your integrity, the rest is easy

It's called "being a whore.":D After all, money is more important than principles to these people.

Just a job

So many people make the (understandable) mistake of identifying the characters actors play with the personalities of the actors themselves. To them it is just a job. It means nothing to their personal views. How could any actor play a villian if it meant something personal to them. What is personal to them is how well they "bring to life" the character they are playing. They do take pride in that. No matter what kind of character it is. The type of character means nothing to them. The character's politics mean nothing to them. It is just a job, and they are NOT the people they portray.

It is sad when we find out that some of the actors are nothing like a character we admire, especially if the actor has played the role often. But it is truth. He-man type characters, we like, and then find out that the actor's personal sexual preference is radically different are a disapointment to many, but it often takes something like this for people to realize that the actors are NOT the characters they play.

("actors" in this post refers to all genders)

Since actors make their living by "pretending" to be someone they are not, why do we set any store by what they say? (even the ones on "our" side?)

Interesting to hear Madonna is anti gun- now she likes playing 'Lady of the Manor' in the UK I understand she has taken up shotgunning.

I hope she is not one of those stars who thinks only they should own guns.

lol..........He played a straight guy in those films too.He definately wasnt one of those!! ...... .....The list is completely bogus, Clint Eastwood is a Libertarian! Not an anti anything party.....This thread is relavent to the topic of firearms though.

Hypocracy ? Richard Widmark's first big part was in a movie which revolved around the 'three strikes and you're out' law then in effect in NY.That was one of many parts where he used a gun . How many other anti's profited from gun parts in movies.

(Some gun threads never die, they just fade away... :D )

Hi all! Found this great thread whilst searching for a hunky conservative type(preferably pro-gun) for my Tuesday Testosterone feature. (Yes, it's silly, but I have fun with it. :o) Gerald McRaney was last week's selection. Well, he was pro-2A back in the 80s, at least.
I was thumbing through an NRA Celebrity Shoot photo book at a wonderful old book shop in McLean, VA a week ago and was trying to remember some of the names. Steven Ford was one of them, but I'm forgetting most of the others. I should have written them down. Dang. May need to go back for that book. Incidentally, I was pleasantly surprised by all of the women celebs who were at the shoot. (Like Erin Gray! Hubby's always had the hots for her.) Hopefully they haven't been corrupted by liberal nonsense since then.

I'm always looking for suggestions, hint hint. (Oh, and forget Tom Selleck--he was my first choice a year ago ;)

"what we get are "movies" with plotlines that serves only to give an excuse to rack up the body count. A perfect example is "The Matrix." What was that turd supposed to be about? What an asinine pretense for a movie, if you can dignify it with that term."

That movie is the classic story about Man makes robots, Robots get angry, Robots fight Man. And who's to say that some day we won't invent robots that go insane? It's already started. I can't even get my VCR to record things:eek: .
