CCW Tips

Easy, surprise!!! Been mugged once before by 2 guys; I didn't even see them coming, no clue what my surroundings were anyway, it was broad daylight and I had nothing to fear, and nothing looked threatening. They got me bad I must admit. By the time I became aware, one guy had me in head lock, the other guy did something to my ribs that was so painful I almost peed my pants. It happened so fast I don't know if he hit me or if he pushed something into my ribs. I couldn't scream and sad to say they were very effective at their craft. I didn't get a good look at them. They had a waiting car nearby and told me not to turn around. Scared as I was, I of course obeyed. I called the cops afterward, couldn't give any useful information and felt very stupid for being so oblivious of my surroundings; But on the bright side, it could have been worse you know.

I just started a thread about waist packs for carry. They work great...that is if you old like me and don't care about fashion.:D

Simple and easy. With a waist pack you can easily carry up to a full size frame if you want.

While you are waiting, start carrying at home. You will figure out quickly what method works for you....for now.

Don't be too quick to judge. Many of us have gone through many holsters and perhaps many pistols as well, trying to find something that feels right.

Five years in, I'm still experimenting, and my tastes are still evolving. I"m not certain that my choices will be the same a year from now, but it's likely that I am down to the "evolutionary" stage of changes rather than the "revolutionary".

I've eliminated a number of options, and found some things that work well. Now I'm just looking for things that work "better". I have not bought another CCW pistol in about half a year, and have not bought a new holster in over a year. I'm not done yet, but the frequency and expense are diminishing. :)

+1 on the Silent Thunder. I just got mine for my PPS , I had the Cover up and sweated it to death. I was leery of lack of comfort with the hard shell but its great. Here in the swamp, a gun gets sweated on. I am not a white collar guy, so OWB is not practical. I can wear my shirt untucked, as has been my fashion for years. But as a skinny guy , using a paddle prints significantly. So its IWB for me. Even pocket carry with an LCP doesnt really work for me due to my clothing routine. Levis watch pocket is OK for the LCP around the farm or shop.
As others have said, its an adjustment on your part, no one else is paying any attention, well maybe other CHL's might be looking out for others in a crowd.

Welcome aboard
