CCW the waiting....

A friend who submitted in Dec, just got his, so I shouldn't be too far.

Apparantly, they hired 60 temp workers who will start in April.

This sure is a stimulus package for the Dept Of Agriculture.
 
I have to ask you, Protectedbyglock and anyone else, don't you have to be either certified otr qualified before getting your carry permit where you are?

Not in the state of PA.
You pay the $19, they "look over" your application and do a background check (similar to when you buy a firearm).
That's it.
 
Yep,... but I think my PA permit cost either $20 or $25

and took something like 2 weeks.... (Note where I live, neither FL or PA, but I do have both of those permits)
 
Just renewed my Texas license last weekend; they say the backlog has been solved ... Of course, Obama said gunowners have nothing to fear from his administration, too ... By the way, cost in Texas is ridiculous ... it was $35 (half the regular $70 because I'm a geezer) to the state for handling the paperwork and $80 to the company giving the class and handling the shooting test ... with the $25 worth of ammo and gas, that's $140 for exercising a Constitutional right ... gotta love the gov'mint ...

Geeze How times have changed.I applied for my permit back in 1984 at the age of 21.No classes,No certifications required but I took a NRA safety course any ways.I cant remember the exact cost but is was very inexpensive and If memory serves the back ground check was like 15.00 bucks.In less then two weeks I was clear and called to the local PD with my weapon and 3 rounds only pr ordered.When I was brought downstairs to the indoor police range by the officer I loaded up my 357 with 38 loads and closed the Gun just about to aim and shoot when he said let me see the gun,So I openned the action and handed it butt first while still facing down range then he closed the action and tried to hand it back closed and loaded and I replied No sir can you please open the action thank you and he did so. after I shot off three rounds I hit the target he said not bad young man but this was soley a saftey test and if you handed me that firearm closed or took the gun back from me closed in a unsafe manner I very well may have flunked you.Good job from there is was less then a month for my ugly mug on the lamination to come.
